| The Pretty Things were by no means pretty, but they made their aggressive rock/pop with influences from Chicago rhythm & blues sound pretty damn good. Coming from London, the band members were Phil May (vocals), Dick Taylor (guitar), Brian Pendleton (rhythm guitar), John Stax (bass) and Viv Prince (drums). Their debut album was released in early 1965 and "Get the picture" later that year. They've continued making music till 1999, of course the best stuff being from the sixties. "Get the picture" contains 12 original tracks and six bonus tracks on cd. Phil May's soulful voice, the band's diverse sounds and the great ,diverse songs make for a recommendable album. Tracks like "London Town", "Cry To Me" and "Midnight To Six Man" are worth a special mention.
