Aff, you want to see the cockpit
i am going to try and make the whole thing modular
using bolts like these to keep large parts together (also more secure than just screws, as they fasten a larger area overall)
that and i will have 'pods' for the control ststem, each one being the same size, so that swapping is a simple matter of taking one out, unplugging it, putting the next in and plugging it in
i plan to use an epic card for the buttons and swiches among other things that control various aspects of the simming experience

my construction will be comprised mostly of plywood for platforms things need to sit on, framing timbers (for framing :) ) and 1/4in luian to cover up the skeleton.

my controls will be 2 ch flightstick pros , one for each hand, then a set of foot controls, not quite rudder pedals.. they will each act independantly, and thru programming of the epic card, control steering the mech, and throttle... (also, thru the wizardry of creation, they will control jump jets, by rotating the foot forward( like airbrakes on a plane), MASC (which is somewhat like afterburner on a plane... not quite but same idea of function), and crouching (i hope you know what that is :) )
also i will be mounting a touchpad, to control mouse functions, if they become necessary (pre battle stage), and a thrustmaster f16 flcs+saitek 35t throttle will be able to swich in if i want to use another sim, like say falcon 4.0 (not as likely) or freespace(2) (much more likely :) )
how will i do that you ask?
the controls will all be modular, there will be 3 mount points, one between the legs, on the console, one on the left armrest, and one on the right armrest,
primary config: touchpad center pod, and a ch flightstick pro on each side pod
alt A config: f16 stick center, saitek throttle left, and touchpad on the right (also might swich in a standard set of rudders for that (i have a set of custom thrusmaster RCS pedals with machined aluminum cross braces instead of teh shoddy plastic ones they come with (not the eite rcs, the old ones :) )
and more pictures will go up (and better structure in this section) as i get more things done, and more pics taken
