Short, feathery grass blades tickle the soles of your bare feet as you pad across the savannah. Other, taller grasses brush against your face and shoulders as you weave your way between them. In the distance, you can see the edge of a forest. Tall trees crowned with billowing clouds of leaves shade the underbrush from the bright, white light of the morning sun.
You rush toward the trees, searching beyond the perimeter for the sight of a forest creature. As you near the first group of saplings, a thin shaft of sunlight dapples over the hides of three strange equine creatures. One looks up, startled, at your approach. Her short ears perk up in curiousity and she steps forward, her companion shifting nervously, a few paces behind.
"Be you friend?" she asks, her dark eyes silently testing you. You blink, surprised at the question, and that seems to satisfy her. "You do not seem the type to wish harm against a creature. I am Niebla and this is my companion, F�nix." She nods in the direction of the other two. "We are called chevei, one of the creatures to dwell on Faidia, along with the melceys, neccos, lorriam, and carmor. Though we are merely a few of the chevei. There are others scattered about the planet. Perhaps you would like to meet others?" she asks.
Minino shuffles nervously, scattering the piles of leaves around with his long horn. "Directions to other chevei homes can be found at Arborwin's site. You should go there and look around. There is much to be discovered." F�nix adds, shooting an irritated glance towards the stallion.. |
