The Birth Story of
Timothy James
On December 28, just two weeks away from my scheduled C-section my water spontaniously broke.  Earlier that day we got into a minor accident. We rear ended another car in traffic, but no one was hurt. Later that night I decided to teach my daughter Taryn how to jumprope. Santa had brought her one, and I was showing her how to use it. I had to use the bathroom, and while I was getting up from the toilet my water broke. I called my mom who was working at the time to come and watch the other kids. She lives and hour away, and she had to go home and get her things. Two hours later she showed up and Tim and I left for the hospital. We got to labor and delivery and they got me into a bed and began hooking me up to the monitors and starting my IV. I tried to convince Dr Beerworth to let me just deliver vaginally but she said no. She wasn't my regular OB but I did like her better. I walked myself into the OR and joked around with the staff while I was getting my spinal. Dr Beerworth came in and they let Tim finally come in. I wasn't nervous, just really anxious to meet TJ. She began to cut and noticed that I had hernias in my fascia from my previous c section that would have to be repaired after delivery.  It explained perfectly all the horrible pains I had had during my pregnancy. What seemed like just a few minutes of the "push pull tug" out came Timothy James. He was given to the attending pediatrican to be looked over. Dr Beerworth asked him how he looked since we were going for a tubal. The Pediatrican gave him an APGAR of 9 at 1 minute and a 10 at 5 minutes. I said okay to the tubal.  They wrapped TJ up and brought him over. I kissed his little face and Tim and TJ went to our room. I thought I was laying on that table forever, and whatever drugs they gave me I was restless. I wanted to just get off that table and out of my skin. I shook so uncontrolably. I tried to sleep but the shakes just didn't allow it. Finally we were done and I went to recovery. By the time I got to my room I was so exhausted that Tim held TJ all night long skin to skin. He was having a hard time regulating his body temprature. But the next morning I began to breast feed TJ and we were deep in love ever since :)
