Whitfield County Fire Department is a combination department with 41 full time employees and 151 volunteer firefighters. Of these firefighters 59 are Engineers (drivers) 16 EMT's and 52 Medical First Responders. The department was established November 1977. The department provides fire protection for a population over 84,000 with in an area of 291 square miles. Whitfield County Fire Department responds with 9 stations, 12 engines, 11 tankers, 1 rescue, 3 command vehicles, and 4 other support vehicles. |
