"Taxi" is a song
by Harry Chapin. It is a rather long ballad. The music of the song is
relativly simple. Harry Chapin was a poet so the real beauty of this song
is in its lyrics. This song also has a sequel. I have not actually listened
to this sequel but from what I have heard of it it cannot compare to the
originial song. The song tells a story of two lovers whose dreams brought
them apart. In the end, they meet and what has happened since their parting
is revealed. The man is driving taxis and the lady has become a star but
is miserable. The fact that they left each other to follow their dreams
but were not happy in the end makes me believe that they should not have
chosen to part.
