Kerry was sitting on an uncomfortable chair at the policestation,drumming onto the table impatiently.The police had told her to come immediatly,definitely not caring that her boyfriend was in hospital with seriously injuries and that she would rather stay with him than answering questions.Just when Kerry was deciding on leaving,the door flung open and an officer walked inside the room,carrying a bundle of papers with him.
�Miss Oaker,right?I�m sorry we asked you to come here while your boyfriend is into hospital,but you need to understand that this is very important.�he replied while he took a seat.Kerry nodded and stated�I understand,it�s just not nice knowing that he�s fighting for his life while I�m sitting here.�
�It won�t take long,I promise.Could you please explain me what happened the night of the 16th of July?�
Kerry sighed deeply,having told the story to the police before,but then started anyway�Me and Scott were discussing the final details of the wedding when he told me he had to get something,a surprise for me.Now I know he wanted to meet Richard,one of his mates,who was waiting for Scott in a pub.You see,Richard�s a DJ in his free time and Scott had written this song for me and had asked Richard to mix it�But anyway,when Scott wanted to leave I told him to take my car.We didn�t want the press and everyone to know that he was going out,so that seemed like a good idea to both of us.The last thing I know is that he left.About an hour later I got a phonecall that he was into hospital.�
The policeman nodded and wrote some stuff down onto a piece of paper before looking up again and exclaiming�Well Miss Oaker,I think there�s something you need to know before you go back to your boyfriend again.�
Kerry stared back at the man in surprise and questioned�What?�
�We think it wasn�t an accident Mr. Robinson was involved in.We suspect somebody wanted to harm you but instead harmed him,not knowing that he was actually driving the car.Until we have proven the opposit,we want you to take a bodyguard.I�m not trying to scare you,I�m just being realistic about what might happen to you if someone�s really after you.�the officer replied and Kerry shook her head wildly.
�You actually mean that it could have been prevented!?�
�Yes,I�m afraid so.That�s why we�re trying everything we can to find the people behind this accident.One last question which might actually help us with the investigations.Do you have any enemies?�
Kerry raised an eyebrow but then finally shrugged her shoulders.
�You know Sir,most of Scott�s fans apprechiate me but others don�t.There will always be some girls thinking that I�m not good enough for Scott,but they�re wrong.I�ve had loads of hate-mail in the past few years but there�s never been a serious threat for me,not until now at least.It�s hard to be the girlfriend of one of the world�s most fancied men,but my love for Scott will always be bigger than my fear for some people�s actions.�
The officer nodded his head and made some final notes before he exclaimed�You can go now,Miss Oaker.I�ll make sure to keep you informed about the investigations.But for now I hope you�ll consider taking some protection,even if it�s for only a few weeks until we have some more information.I wish you all the best with Mr. Robinson.�
Abs once again was sitting in the hospital�s waiting area.He felt responseble for all the incidents of the past few days,although it definitely wasn�t his fault,and that was the reason why he came back to the clinic every day.Abs felt hopeless and wished there was something he could do to make it all better again but he had no clue what.
Reading some uninteresting interview with David Beckham in The Sun he wasn�t paying very much attention to what was actually going on around him until a nurse approached Abs in a hurry.
�Mr. Breen,he woke up!�she exclaimed and it took Abs only a second to run towards his mate�s room and enter it,totally exited about the sudden news.But inside the room the next surprise was waiting for Abs : although Scott was still laying onto the bed,he was clearly watching every of the nurses,which had gathered inside the room after hearing the news,with great interest.Abs just stood there for a little while,thinking his eyes were decieving him.Suddenly Scott seemed to notice Abs� surprised glares and he turned his head towards the door,a small,almost invisible smile appearing on his lips.
Without any more hestitation Abs walked over to Scott and sat down next to him on a chair.
�Scott,can you hear me?�he asked gently and Scott blinked his eyes like he tried to say �yes�.
Abs grabbed his friend�s hand and softly said�I missed you,mate.�
Scott just blinked again and smiled a little more visible.He clearly was happy to see someone he knew,and Abs felt a huge weight falling off of his shoulders when realizing Scott was going to be fine again.
�I will call Kerry,alright?You just stay awake a bit more,at least until I�m back.God,there�re so many things I wanna tell you,mate.�Abs stated and Scott nodded.
When Abs was walking over to a payphone in the corridor of the hospital,the only he thing he could think of was that this huge nightmare was soon to be over for all of them�
