Liz was the first one to wake up the next morning.Right after the whole “accident” the girls had made their way back to Liz’s apartment.She had hid the rented car in her garage so nobody would ever find out about the damage it had suffered.Liz knew she had to bring the car back at one point but that was something she would worry about later.After a few minutes of listening to Cheri’s breathing,Liz got out of bed and walked over to the telly.
“Well,let’s see how Kerry suffered.”she muttered under her breath while she turned the t.v. on and searched for MTV.The voice of a guy immediatly filled the room.
“Right now we don’t have any more information about the condition of Five’s Scott Robinson,who was brought to one of London’s hospital’s last night after a serious caraccident.The police have started investigations after finding the traces of black lacquer on the site of the singer’s car.This could mean that it wasn’t an accident but attempted murder.”
Liz stared at the screen in disbelieve.It couldn’t be true!They had definitely rammed Kerry’s car but not Scott’s!
Cheri woke up from the sound of the telly and looked up in surprise at hearing Scott’s name.
“Fuck!This can’t be happening!It just can’t!”Liz yelled before she slammed her hand against the wall.
“What’s happened?Is something wrong with Scott?”Cheri asked fearfully while she put some clothes on.
“We fucking killed Scott!He’s in hospital,Cheri,in hospital!Oh God,the police have started an investigation to find us!”
Cheri raised an eyebrow,not really taking everything in.Liz noticed the look on her friend’s face and shouted”They found black lacquer on the site of Kerry’s car!They know someone tried to kill him!”
“But why was he in Kerry’s car?”
“How for fuck’s sake should I know!”
Cheri sat down,sighing tearfully.”I knew we shouldn’t have done it.It was doomed to go wrong right from the beginning,Liz!”
Liz shook her head wildly.”Don’t you blame me for it,missy!You are just as much involved in this mess as I am!”
Liz also sat down,her head in her hands.Suddenly she jumped up again and started throwing clothes in a bag.
“What are you doing!?”Cheri shouted almost hysterical.
“We gotta flee before the police will find us!We will spend the rest of our lifes in prison if we stay here!But first we gotta get rid of that rented car.”
And with that Liz stopped packing and pulled Cheri with her out of the room…
It was still very early in the morning when the sound of a mobile phone woke Rich up from his sleep.He muttered something and turned on his side again until he realized it was the day of Scott’s wedding.That idea suddenly woke him really up and he stumbled out of bed,dragging himself over to a chair where he had left his clothes the previous night.Rich pulled his telephone out of one of his trouser’s pockets and asked in a very groggy voice”Hello?”
“Rich?It’s me,Abs.”
“Abs?Why are you calling me this early?”Rich asked in surprise.He had expected to hear Scott or Kerry but definitely not Abs.Rich could hear his mate sigh at the other end of the line before he said”Something bad has happened.”
“What?”
“Last night Scott had a caraccident.He’s in hospital.”
“In hospital?”It took Rich all his power to let Abs’ words sink in.
“It’s looking bad,man.Very bad.”
Rich sighed deeply and sat down on the edge of his bed.
“In which hospital is he laying?”Rich finally asked.
“In the Royal.I’ll be waiting for you at the third floor,man.”Abs replied before he hung up the phone.
Rich stared at the now beeping mobile in his hand in disbelieve before he just got up,a feeling of pure fear running through his veins,and got dressed to meet up with Abs as soon as possible…
