To savour my 15 seconds of fame! After the success of the first Pop Idol I decided to enter the second one. The trouble was that I know I cant sing to save my life. I also knew that not everyone got through to see the judges ie. Pete Waterman, Nicki Chapman, Niel Fox and Simon Cowell. The fact that I was desperate to have Simon Cowell be nasty to me did come into it somewhat so from early on I decided to dedicate a song to him. Toucha Toucha Toucha Touch Me (from the Rocky Horror Show) seemed to be the perfect song (and also I could have the excuss to not wear much). I filled in my aplication form and sent it off. About a year later I got a letter in the post saying:
Dear Fiona, CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are delighted to confirm that you have been selected for a POP IDOL audition.
Well it was like Christmas come early. At that exact time I wouldn't have been happier if an owl came with a letter to say I had been accepted at Hogwarts!
...and the rest, as they say is history!
