| Us on the grounds of Sugar Plantation in Bequia that dates back to the 1600s! The sugar was milled and exported to Europe where it was sold for quite a bit of money, usually only to the rich. The mill stopped producing sugar in the mid 1900s when mass sugar production became prominent in many countries. The mill is currently the pottery workspace and shop of an islander from England. The grounds are pastures for cows and sheep. |
