"Fin de Siecle" is a free PBEM (play by email) game set in the decades leading up to World War One. Unlike the original game of Diplomacy, which was centred upon Europe, "Fin de Siecle" expands the scope of the game to a global scale, encompassing the colonial struggles between the great powers and other regional powers. The mechanics of the game are simple and encourage a broad strategic and diplomatic outlook, without getting into too fine a detail. Following the strategic environment of 1870 - 1914, the game develops the strategic balances and diplomatic tangles that characterised the period’s international relations. Fin de Siecle can be played with 8 - 16 players. In general, there will be one turn every
week and those wishing to play must
have time to write six or seven emails a week as well as writing down
their moves. If you are still interested, please refer to the following links: Rules Maps Current Games (none running) Getting Involved Or contact me on [email protected] | ![]() |
