The Spectacular Spider-Man #263 Nov 1998 & V2 #27 June 2005

Summary: Spider-Man's sales were slagging because of the clone saga, so Marvel decided to pull a John Byrne, literally. Byrne's successful relaunched Superman in the 1980s, so Marvel had Byrne write and draw Spider-Man: Chapter One and relaunched The Amazing Spider-Man and Peter Parker: Spider-Man, but cancelled the Sensational and Spectacular Spider-Man titles. In 2003, Peter Parker: Spider-Man was cancelled with #57 and replaced with a new Spectacular Spider-Man #1. This series was also cancelled when long time Peter Parker/Spectacular writer Paul Jenkins left the book. Another Spider-Man title, 'Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' written by Peter David will debut in late 2005.INDEX
