Ch. 2��The Town of Narshe�
The 3 travelers reached Narshe around nightfall. The gates leading into the mountain city were carelessly left open. Likewise, the streets lay empty.
�Phew! It sure is warm around here,� Wedge says, taking off his heavy gloves.
�That�s because of all the geothermal generators around the city,� Biggs tells him. �They tap into the natural steam geysers in the mountains.�
�Oh. But where are the people?�
�Probably hiding,� Biggs chuckles. �Though let�s not take any chances.� He points to the girl. �You are on point. We�ll follow behind you.�
As they storm up the main street, a full regiment of Narshe guards jumps out of the shadows from behind. �Get them! They must not reach the mines!� 1 of them shouts.
Wedge manages to stun 2 guards with a Bolt Beam before he was tackled & flung out of his machine.
Biggs lasted only slightly longer. As they both grapple for their lives on the ground, Biggs shouts in a strangled voice, �Damn it! Tek Missile Omega! �Missile Omega!�
The girl says emotionlessly, �Tek Missile spread, activated now.� As she pushes a button on her control panel, a hatch opens up in the front. Several small homing missiles launch out of the hatch. The projectiles strike each of the guards with deadly accuracy, & they collapse, stunned & wounded.

When the 2 reach the new mineshaft, they find 2 guards on duty in front of the entrance.
�Halt!� 1 of them says. �Who are you?�
�We are on official business of the Empire,� Biggs informs. �Let us pass or risk death.�
�What are you talking about? And what�s that you people are in? I�ve never seen it before.�
�It�s called Magitek Armor,� Biggs tells him impatiently. �Now move!�
�Magitek Armor?� he repeats in recognition. �War machines! Not even Narshe is safe anymore! We are neutral. You people can�t just come in here &--�
Before he can finish, Biggs turns to the girl with a grin on his face, & nods.
She pulls a lever on her control panel, & another hatch opens. A poisonous gasoline-colored mist spews forth & envelops the 2 guards. They both fall down, writhing in agony.

Deep within the mines, they find the frozen Esper. The ice covered being sat situated on a platform jutting out from the wall. Due to the poorly lit beam of light shining from the front of the Magitek machine, the creature�s features were distorted. However, there was no mistake. This is what they all came here for.
�Would you look at that,� Wedge says amazed.
�Truly unbelievable,� adds Biggs.
�Tritoch?� asks the girl, stepping forward in the Magitek suit. �Is that you?�
�Hey!� says Wedge. �What�s with you?�
Just then, the creature in the ice opens its eyes.
Not noticing this, Biggs questions, �Do you know something we don�t?�
Suddenly, a pulsating white light is emitted from the being shines on Wedge. He lets out a cry & vanishes in a flash of light.
�What the--!?� exclaims Biggs. �What did you do to him?!� He shoots forth an Ice Beam, but it reflects off the frozen war bird, & b ounces back to strike him. Biggs also vanishes in a flash of light.
Lastly, a chain of lightening reaches forth to the girl. Instead of harming, a connection of raw, electric discharge is made. The last thing she sees before her world turns white is a startled man in the shadows.
