Information:
On the third disc, you can battle the Ultimate Weapon to the death. You will find him hovering above a large lake near Junon. To initiate the battle, fly the Highwind into him. He will fly away after every battle, and you have to chase him, slamming into him until he goes to attack a town, then when you hit him, you will battle him again. You keep battling him until he is just hovering near Cosmo Canyon. He's not much of a challenge compared to Emerald and Ruby.
Strategy:
In battle, cast Regen and Wall on your characters and pummel him with strong attacks such as Ultima, Flare, Comet2, Summons, and Limit Breaks. The best strategy to beat him is your best battle strategy for other bosses. He should fly away soon, so right when you get out of battle, swing the Highwind around and locate him, or you may be in for a long search, as he moves around the map constantly. Once you find him, chase him and don't worry about healing your characters until Ultimate attacks a town. When he is hovering near Cosmo Canyon, this will be his final battle. Make sure you have Enemy Skill equipped, because when he is about to die, he will use Shadow Flare, which you would do good to learn. The Final Battle is about the same as the other battles, so do the same strategy.
When he is defeated, he will explode, opening up the Ancient Forest to exploration. |
