CFL Football & Anonymous

Friday night was a solid evening. I watched the Bombers pull out their first win of the CFL season. The game was alot closer than anticipated. BC executed an onside kick that would make Mikey's Madden team jealous, but it was too little too late.

From there it was down to the Collective where Montreal Metal band Anonymus was playing. They were an alright band, but lost me when they closed their set with their French metal anthem, Under pressure. I started laughing everytime they said "Sou Pressure!". ( Irealize the spelling is probably wrong)

Moneen & Banned Ideas

Saturday was a day of nothing. It was shitty outside and I just wasn't feeling the need to do anything. I went to Music Trader and bought a ticket for the moneen show, then went and bought a new bead for my lebret piercing. I've lost 4 in the past 2 weeks. Then I watched Street Fighter:The Movie. Then I wished I hadn't.

The moneen show was good, it's always good. You can tell that they are totally comfortable on stage now. I don't know whether I've seen too much death metal, or I was too messed up to enjoy it, but they didn't seem as intense as they once were. They still gave more than most bands do.

After the show I was checking out the book table that was set up at the back. I had a good chat with the guy working there about SARS and the stupidity surrounding it, then bought a book. It is a conspiracy book, but I find it's views to be intresting and most of the points well made. A couple of the topics that I have read about thus far include: Government mind control, how the anarchist cookbook is misinformation given to the public to send up red flags to the government, and the theory that AIDS was a synthetic war agent developed by the US milatary and tested in Gays through Hepatitis B vaccinations. I don't know if I believe alot of what I've read, but it is intresting to hear a different side/theory of things.

Long Weekend ?

I was going to be on time for work on Monday, I really was. Then my car wouldn't start. It was definatly a battery issue, but I couldn't understand what would have caused the problem. Thinking that it may have been due to some short circuit with the windshield wipers (which I had left in the On position) I went back into the house and watched Scooby-Doo. When I returned to my car the battery seemed to be in no better condition, so I called into work and told them I wouldn't be coming in. Then I went back to bed.

I arose around noon and made the decision to take care of this car issue as quickly as possible. First, I would need a glass of good ol' H2O

Actual Conversation from Ryan's Kitchen

Amber: Why didn't you go to work today?
Ryan: Why don't ever mind your own business. (Explanation of car story )
Amber: What were you doing?
Ryan: Sleeping, why?
Amber: You were sleeping all morning?
Ryan: Yeah, were you and Blair having wild sex or something?
Amber: Well, we were having sex. (apparently not very wild)

I'm not sure whether she was embarassed or bragging, but she pissed me right off. I was not in a very good mood as it was and the last thing I need is a nagging roommate who talks about fucking my cousin. The Rest of the Car Story

Nathan (who was also supposed to be at work) came home and we boosted my car. I went back to the Canadian Tire that supposedly fixed the altenator and told them the deal. They told me they weren't sure if they would be able to fit it in that day. This is when I realized their strategic placement of the old man behind the counter. I was not impressed, but how do you get mad at an old man? In the end it was primarily their mistake and cost me $13 for a belt. My car is an altenator whore, as it has had 3 in 4 weeks, but it runs now and hopefully it stays that way.
