Rock over Winnipeg

It started with just over 15 and ended with around 30, people that is. Although my show last night was small, it was a definatly good for moral. People actually came back inside to hear what I was doing and the singer from the band before me (who, oddly enough had been trying to make fun of me to my face all night) offered an opening spot at their next show when he bought my CD.

My eyes were opened to the advantages of being a musician when an incredibly hot girl invited me to join her and her friends and bought me beer. I sold 3 CD's before I could finish getting my shit off the stage, so I was definatly encouraged.

However, the good times did not come without physical sacrifice. Caught up in the fury, I accidentally hit myself in the back of the head with a mic stand and by 2 AM my head hurt alot. The mechanics of how it happened are beyond me, these things just happen sometimes.

So now, the long weekend

I imagine it won't be long enough. Plans include: doing absolutely nothing, working on some songs and making myself at home in this fair city. I'm also thinking about making a run at the Muchmusic Temp thing again this year. I have a couple weeks to work on it (which is way more than last year) so I'm thinking I'll give it a go.

There is a wicked show in Osbourne on Sunday that I'm going to try and attend, Figure Four is headlining with a couple other cool local Winnipeg bands. I'm also thinking I might go see the new Matrix movie. I've heard it is good.

Next Saturday is the DMC DJ championships and I think I might go check it out. ACC pimp turned BU webmaster G$ is talking about coming in for the shizzle.

Work

It is 11:25 AM. SO far this morning I have done...nothing. I showed up 20 minutes late, chatted with the project supervisor and looked at some stuff we've been demo-ing. The client is almost ready to approve the idea so we should start actually building this thing sometime next week. If only I got paid for this.

  • "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" - Black Sabbath - Kind of lame, givin the bands name, but young Ozzie vocals make it happen
