MY    FORD   CONSUL

BRIEF HISTORY
I've  always admired the styling of the big mark two Fords and my dream was realised with the purchase of the Consul on this site.

Shortly after aquiring the car it was serviced and the underside protected by a local classic car restorer.

The car usually gets used quite regularly but of course there have been a few problems.

A replacement regulator and dynamo cured the problem of a flat battery on a few occasions.

A small hole in the radiator caused some loss of coolant and overheating and was repaired with some compound. This lasted for a while but gave out on the M1 on a trip to the seaside. It was shortly repaired professionally.

Other work done includes a replacement fuel pump, starter motor overhaul and some welding.

The paint work is covered on the previous page. Inside door arm rests and a period car radio have been fitted  and a leopard skin cover on the front seat.

Hopefully the Consul will be attending a few classic car shows in the summer.
