As in the daytime there is no star in the sky, warmer and brighter than the sun, likewise there is no competition greater than the Olympic Games."    Pindar, Greek lyric poet, 5th century bc

There are things in life, you just have to do. You just have to, no matter what. One of the things, is being part of the Olympics Games. The Olympics are so special, its impossible to describe it, you just feel it is. Unfortunately many of us, are not talented enough to be an athlete. It's something for the few of us. It's like pushing shit uphill with a rubber fork, we will never be an Olympian... But we are going to try to feel like an Olympian, by cycle from Groningen (Netherlands) to Athens on a recumbent bike.

In 1896 the first Modern Olympic Games were held in Athens and since that time have been on a journey around the world for more than a century. Now, at the dawn of the 3rd millennium, the Games are returning to the country of their birth and the city of their revival.

This site will give you information about our trip and preparations for our journey. We depart in the beginning of June 2004 and from that moment we will try to keep you up to date every time we feel like doing that. You can read about our trip in our "
Weekly Reports".  Before that there is a lot of training to do, just like an Olympian....
