Heather sat on the steps with her hands over her face. If anyone had been close enough to hear, they would have heard Heather whimper softly. But no one could hear her over the shouts and growling. Jade had decided to join the class this morning. She had somehow gotten a Snare wrapped around her back legs and another around her head. The entire class was trying to hold her down.

Kai21 was trying to pry the Snare off her head. MyKai picked himself off the ground after Jade had kicked him. Ryt sat off to the side, holding his head after Jade had whacked him with her tail. At last, SciKai got the Snare off Jade's legs, and was promptly kicked him the stomach for his hard work. Kai21 got the Snare off her head and was hit with the full blast of her tongue. He fairly dripped with drool. Jade jumped to her feet and ran back to her doghouse. The ladies, who had been "trying" to hold Jade down, fall down, exhausted.

Heather didn't look, she just sat there, rocking back and forth. Silently she prayed, "Let it be over, please, please let it be over."

The evening class had gathered infront of the main doors. LoverKai and JustKai were pushing each other, MicroMary hollering at them to behave. Kai45 whispered something to Necro that had her blushing and giggling. Evening Star was glaring at Alg who kept making funny faces at her.

Kai 13 walked threw the doors and down the steps, not looking at anyone. He stopped a few feet away from the group. "Class has been canceled." said Kai 13, still not looking at anyone. Everyone froze and turned to look at him.

"What'd ya mean, canceled??? said doffy. "Where's Heather?" asked Blue.

Kai 13 looked uncomfortable "She's hiding under her bed and won't come out."

"WHAT? WHY?" said ES.

Kai 13 looked up. Several people took an involuntary step back. They had never seen him so angry. The anger was burning in his eyes as he looked at everyone.

"You actually have to ask why?" his voice was straining, almost cracking, "When the whole lot of you have been acting like rowdy preschoolers? She's up there right now, crying her eyes out, saying that she's a lousy teacher, that she should never have created the Snares, that she should never have tried teaching you how to use them. And you have the audacity to ask why?" Many were hanging their heads now, other's stared at Kai 13 quietly. "I hope your happy." growled Kai 13. He whipped around and stormed back up the steps into the castle and upstairs.

Kai 13's anger melted away at the sounds of the heart-renching sobs coming from under the bed. He walked into the bedroom he shared with his mistress, Fields of Heather, and laid down on the floor next to the bed. He reached under the bed with one arm and felt Heather's hand close around his, her sobs quieting slightly.

At that moment Kai 13 didn't care what anyone thought about him or his outburst, they didn't have to see Heather like this, he did. "It'll be ok, I promise." he whispered softly, gently squeezing her hand. Somewhere around midnight, Kai 13 coaxed Heather out from under the bed. He spent the rest of the night cradling her to his chest, whispering softly, and wiping away her tears.

The next morning, Kai 13 called Twilight and Kai21 up to Heather's chambers. They talked briefly. Twilight volunteered to stay with Heather. Kai 13 and Kai21 quietly left, walking towards the stairs.

"We need to get everyone from the Morning and Evening classes together. I have an idea." said Kai 13. They gathered the classes together in the main hall. Kai 13 told them about his idea to help Heather get her confidence back. They batted several suggestions about. Kai 13 wasn't surprised to see the Terrible Trio staring intently at the floor at their feet. LoverKai had "borrowed" one of the Snares. Kai 13 had yet to show his mistress the Snare MicroMary had returned to him. Whatever the poor thing had seen had traumatized it. It was curled up in a corner of the greenhouse, trembling. Kai 13 knew if, no, when Heather saw the poor thing, she would be hard pressed not to hack the three of them into little bits. Kai 13 was half tempted to help her. But that would have to wait.

"OK," said PerfectBlue, "it's agreed, we're gonna show Heather we have learned something and that she's not to blame for the "mishaps" in class."

"Learn??? We were supposed to learn something?" said Rytalin, ducking as a mushy tomato flew past his head. Ignoring Ryt, Blue continued, "You all know what you have to do, let's go." With that everyone stood up.

Kai 13 hoped this worked, cause if it didn't, no, it WAS going to work. It had to.
