We trust that your intentions to breed your female Labrador Retriever are for the betterment of the breed and that you have excellent homes in advance for the resulting puppies. Here at FieldRose, we provide stud Services utilizing Natural breeding or Artificial Insemination using fresh semen. We are also looking into the possibility of providing fresh extended semen for those that live a great distance and would rather not ship or drive the female to us. Our stud services are available to "approved" females only. What does "approved" means? Every stud owner has a certain criteria that the female AND her owner must meet before allowing a mating with their stud. Here is ours: 1. At least 18 months of age; 2. Representative of the breed; 3. No faults that would be detrimental to breed from; 4. Ideally--OFA or other hip/elbow cerification preferred; 5. Ideally--CERF or other eye clearances preferred; 6. No internal or external parasites; 7. No communicable skin disease; 8. No history of epilepsy; 9. Negative brucellosis test within 45 days. Stud Fee: The stud fee is due at the time of service. A stud service certificate will be provided with our guarantee of at least two (2) live puppies at birth, or a repeat stud service at the next season. Stud Service: You will be notified when the first breeding occurs. If an artificial is necessary you will be notified in advance, if possible, and to confirm the vet expense. Please call to confirm the need for the stud dog the first day of the bitch's season so appropriate arrangements can be made and to make sure timing is the best it can be to assure pregnancy. Shipping: If you are shipping by air, please enclose all the required information for the female with her health certificate in an envelope taped to the bitch's crate along with feeding instructions and any special instructions. We will call you when we have the first breeding. An airport pick-up and delivery fee of $50.00 will be charged. If you are not familiar with the FCI Breed Standard for Labrador Retriever; or if you intend to sell your puppies to dog brokers/traders, pet shops/stores, other 2nd parties; or provide them for raffles/auctions; or sell ALL your puppies as show potentials/prospects before they reach five (5) months of age, then we CANNOT provide stud service for your female. If however, you are seriously interested in one of our males and believe that he would be a suitable mate for your female--in terms of pedigree and physical qualities--then please mail or e-mail us a copy of your female's pedigree along with a color picture, be sure to include your information and phone number and we will get back with you as soon as possible. All visiting females are provided with excellent care and when performing Natural matings, all are attended to so no careless injury may result and to be sure that breedings are done at the right time, as nothing can be more disappointing than to not have a litter when planned. You can call us anytime to discuss our services in detail but until we see your female and her pedigree, we cannot make judgment on her quality. |
