| Savannah picked up her phone and dialed Melinda's cell. She answered after two rings. "ullo?" she sounded distracted. "Melinda?" Savannah tried to shout through the noise on the other end of the line. "Hello? Ugh, hold on," the sound of doors shutting came through. Melinda sighed on her end of the line, "Okay, hello?" "Melinda? It's Savannah." Melinda gave a high-pitched squeal and Savannah had to move the phone away from her ear a bit. "Why is everything alright Melinda?" Savannah asked in worry. "Oh you and your southern manners! You got my message??" "Yes of course I did, what's the secret? What did you want to tell me?" Panny jumped on Savannah's lap as she sat down on her couch and tried to relax. �Panny, not now dear,� she whispered and pushed him off her lap. She brushed the fur off of her lap in disgust. "Okay, well do you have a job or anything yet?" Savannah pictured the neon sign she stared at all day. "No." "GOOD! GREAT! So just say yes!" Savannah cocked her eyebrow in confusion and set her hand on her chest in exasperation. "My goodness Melinda, what has gotten into you?" Melinda rolled her eyes even though Savannah couldn't see it. "Just tell me you'll say yes, please!" "To what Melinda? I do think I should know what I�m saying yes to, shant I?" "You're no fun. Okay well we need a photographer to take pictures of the guys while they're on tour in Europe for a---" "Who's we?" "Me, Nsync, Jive, fans, anyways.....we need you to take pictures of them while they perform so we can----" "What type of pictures?" "Pictures of them performing at concerts, they're going to be for a fan club book----" "Where exactly are these concerts again?" Melinda gave an annoyed sigh and backtracked anyways, "In Europe, so we�re going to be---" "EUROPE!" "Yes Europe! I know you�ve been there plenty of times with Aunt Shannon and Uncle Cotton, but I promise you it�ll be much more�ahem, fun this trip." Melinda stared at her reflection in the mirror and smiled at her tan. "Oh Melinda you know I could never get tired of Europe! Mother and Father told me I have too much exploration to be a proper lady, but I just can�t help it with the architecture and the languages, and the food, and the people- oh the people! They�re just wonderful! Nothing like the people on Ruby Lotus. Why I bet that�� "Savannah dear! Catch your breath! What would your mother say if she heard you going on like that?� Melinda almost giggled at herself for falling into her cousin�s proper manners. One can�t help it when they�re around her, or just merely talking to her. Savannah�s lust for life just radiates out of her. She had to laugh at her cousin's excited voice. She missed her more than she realized. �Oh Mel! Don�t lecture me about what mother would do! Tell me more about Europe!� She laughed and shook her head, �Well I was going to say that Johnny wants someone�� "Who's Johnny?" "Johnny is Nsync's manager, and kinda my boss as well. I guaranteed him I could get him a really awesome photographer, now please don't--" �And you WILL have your photographer! Mel you go back to that Johnny man and tell him he has got himself a photographer. The finest of the south!� Justin and Joey pressed their ears to the door even closer to listen to the female's phone conversation. "What's she sayin?" "Shhhh!!" JC rolled his eyes at his bandmates, "Have you guys ever heard of privacy?" Joey signaled JC to be quiet. "Whom ever it is, is giving her a piece of their mind from the sound of things." "Be quiet, I can't hear!" Melinda sighed happily as she shut off her phone. Pushing the door open to exit back into the living room, she heard a loud crash on the other side and peaked around the shutter doors carefully. Justin and Joey lay tangled on the ground with scowls on their faces. Melinda refrained from giggling as best as she could. "Wow, didn't realize you guys swung that way," Justin stuck his tongue out at her and pushed Joey off of him. "Sooo, who were you talking to?" Joey asked after he recovered from his tumble. Melinda smiled to their surprise in what they thought looked like excitement. "You'll find out soon enough!" |
