Chapter 3 - Brand New Day
Weekends mess. They seemed rush don't they? Everything is in one warp of time but sometimes just a look from someone else can make seconds feel like hours. Sometimes people just need the clock to slow down and that look is just what they needed.

In the dim morning light, a swift but gentle breeze flows through the city as if calling it to wake, bringing the sun to rise over the horizon after it. Mornings like these Dani cherished more than anything. As the breeze catches her curtains, lifting them from the white window frame and let's them twist and dance against the air her brown sugar eyes watch as a faint smile forms on her tired lips. The day for her has began and in an enchanting way. Carefully she pulls her body out from under her heavy warm white sheets and quilts, sitting up on her big plush bed.

"Morning world, another day has come for laughter, playing, and fun," She says in a soft whisper, slipping her legs over the side of the bed. Getting up she goes to the window, standing between the two swaying curtains and lets the breeze push the sleep off her. She closes her eyes as her hair flies behind her, laughing softly with a smile as the sun lights her skin and brightens her room. Something good was to come today, she could just tell be her phenomenal morning.

John lays fast asleep in the back of his bus, his body curled against the couch as his head rests on the cool glass of the window. His guitar rests in his arms, him hugging it close to him, holding it as he would hold a small female against him. His pouty lips lay open as his breathing is slow, fogging the window each time he breaths out. His body aches slightly from his position but nothing he can't sleep through. Unfortunately though, outside Dave notices his friend's face press to the window. With a coy smile, he looks over at Scotty, pointing up towards John. Reaching up, Dave expression turns to a rude, mischievous smirk as his hand flattens and quickly beats against the glass.

The movement of the glass shoots John's eyes open, as he jumps up and falls off the couch with a loud thud which not only shakes the bus some but can be heard from outside. The guitar falls from his arms as he had jumped and luckily wasn't harmed.

Hearing the thud though, Scotty with Dave crack up in an evil laughter, holding their sides as they do so.

Dressed for the day and grinning ear to ear, Dani comes into the kitchen to find Shaunna half asleep with a bowl of cereal in hand, hunched over the counter as she eats it, her crystal blue eyes dimmed and focused on the paper that lays open beside her.

"Morning to you precious," Dani chimes happily as she walks over, going behind her friend and encircling her with her arms, hugging her gently. Shaunna rolls her eyes, nudging Dani with her elbow to push her off.

"Why are you cheery?" She asks in a huffed mumble, her eyes not leaving the story she was determined to read as her hand brings her spoon up to her mouth to take another bite of her apple jacks.

"Can't one smile without true cautious reasoning? I am happy because a new day is upon us with opportunities and well... apples!" Dani says with a grin as she reaches over to the basket on top of the stove that is filled with fruit. She grabs a big shimmery red apple and brings it to her lips, taking a big bite.

"apples?" Shaunna questions, raising a curious eyebrow and looks up only to find Dani's face souring as she chews. "What's wrong now?"

Chewing, Dani forces herself to swallow before speaking, mouth still half full with apple. "Its mealy...."

Sitting in the conference room while people walk in and out in a busy rush, John lets out a tired yawn, ignoring his need for more sleep since his rude awakening this morning. No, today was a busy day if he liked it or not with interviews for magazines and papers and then some radio promos. He didn't mind it so much, it gave him time to keep the same speech going which he had practically memorized while he could just in his mind work on lyrics. Lyrics. His only way of expressing true feelings. He never was one to come out with everything, he always simply stumbled over the meaning but with his songs and lyrics the real message could come floating out, un-inhibited.

Hearing the doors open behind him, he turns his head slightly only to see Scotty come in with his hair neatly done and his clothing pressed. "Are you trying to impress someone or just scare them off?" John says teasingly as he slowly pulls himself from the comfortable chair he was just resting in, standing up tall only to tower over his friend.

"Funny! You're a real riot Johnny-boy," Scott says with an air of sarcasm while he walks over, rolling his eyes a bit. "Are you ready? We have interviews in about twenty minutes."

John scrunches his nose slightly before giving a cheesy grin. "I love the press! You know I have been having wet dreams about today for weeks!"

"Keep it up John and see the press hate you," Scott says as he glares at John some, knowing he was in a mood.

"Jeans are the best thing ever," Dani says as she turns her attention to Shaunna in the elevator, trying to get rid of the erie silence and elevator music which could but anyone to sleep.

Shaunna, with a few blond hairs falling in her face glares toward her friend, sighing as she doesn't reply, simply turns her attention back to the silver closed door in front of her.

"Oh come on! They are. You can relax in them, look lazy but not too lazy. And, they have pockets!" Dani continues, ignoring Shaunna's obvious shrug off.

"You knew about this interview..." Shaunna says in a low irritated voice since she was dressed up and here, her partner in crime was going on about her jeans and tank, something so unprofessional in her opinion.

Dani bites her lip, swallowing hard as her brown eyes look at the floor. She knew about the interview with the new boy but how could she help her dressing habits. She didn't want to be a stiff and considering she had plans to go out right after this, dressing in a suit just seemed stiflingly boring and bad.

"I love you?" she says, turning her head slightly only to feel Shaunna's hand come up and tap her shoulder hard.

"Dani grow up! Come on you have work. This isn't high school," Shaunna says sternly as she turns towards him, her eyes staring into her friend, trying to intimidate her and working all to well.

"Sowwie... ok. I'm an adult!" Dani says, quickly standing up straight before letting out a small smirk, mumbling. "Who's inner child is in control..."

"DANI!" Shaunna yells as the elevator dings, signaling their arrival.
