Saman's haar / Saman's hair

In januari waren we weer terug en meteen begon de schoolroutine weer.  We kwamen er snel achter (zie ook blog) dat we iets van een Nederlandse school hadden meegenomen: hoofdluis!  Een goede reden om de jongens weer lekker kaal te knippen.  Maar eerst nog even klieren met Saman's haar. In January we were back in Addis and very quickly the school routine recommenced.  Pretty soon we discovered that we had brought souvernirs from a Dutch school: head lice!  A good excuse to trim the boys bald again.  But first some messing with Saman's hair.

Saman: 5 jaar/ years,  Yekuno: 3 jaar/ years

Yekuno heeft nu ook schoolkleren.  Grappig hoe de jongens in dezelfde kleding zo'n verschillende uitstraling kunnen hebben. Yekuno has his school uniform too now.  Funny how the boys, dressed in the same clothes, can look so different. 16/01/08

Gel geeft niet altijd zo'n lief effect als hierboven.  Hiernaast en -onder lijkt het wel alsof we een echte Sjonnie in huis hebben!  Komt misschien ook door het kwallerige schoolvestje. Gel sometimes has a surprising efffect, not always as cute as on the picture above.  Below Saman looks quite different, perhaps enhanced by the weird school vest. 25/01/08

Knip die gelharen er maar af, mama!  Dan maar meteen een fotoreportage.  Het tussenstadium hier rechts gaf een heel Indiaas effect, maar Saman was vooral blij met het korte koppie zonder bakkebaarden hieronder.  Tchilu wilde graag met hem op de foto.  Ze had een papieren zwaard gemaakt dat Saman voor haar mocht kleuren. Saman asked me to cut his gel-hair.  We made it into a photo shoot.  Halfway the process, Saman looked very Indian (photo right) but he was most happy with his short hair without side burns below.  Tchilu wanted to pose with him and her self-made paper sword that she wanted Saman to colour. 25/01/08

De volgende dag kwam het echte knippen, of eigenlijk, tonderen.  Ook daar deden we wat tussenstapjes: zie Saman als punk en als Mohawk indiaan.  Yekuno moest huilen tijdens het knippen dus geen van hem fotos deze keer. The next day the real clipping began, but again with some intermediate steps.  See Saman as punk and as Mohawk indian (or should I say native American?).  Yekuno was crying during the clipping, so no pictures of him this time. 26/01/08

Hier onze 'olijke tweeling' in dezelfde pyamas met bijna kale hoofden springend op ons bed. Here the 'happy twins' wearing the same pyamas with their almost bald heads jumping on the bed. 27/01/08
