Kerst in Nederland / Christmas in the Netherlands

Voor het eerst in 9 jaar, voor de jongetjes zelfs voor de allereerste keer, hebben we kerst en oud&nieuw doorgebracht in Nederland.  De logeerpartij met de familie Houtman staat op de volgende pagina en hier de rest. For the first time in 9 years, for the boys it was the very first time, we spent christmas and new year in the Netherlands.  Our stay-over with the Houtman family is on the next page and here is the rest.

Saman: 5 jaar/ years,  Yekuno: 3 jaar/ years

Ons huisje op de Egelshoek had een andere sfeer dan 's zomers met de korte dagen en bladloze bomen.  Vooral de dagen voor kerst zag het er prachtig uit met mooi berijpte bomen.  De jongens waren verbaasd over wolkjes ademen en koude handen. Our holiday house at 'De Egelshoek' was quite different now from Summer with short days and leave-less trees.  Especially the days before christmas it was lovely with beautifully frosted trees.  The boys were surprised about 'breathing clouds' and having cold hands. 22/12/07

Omi had een lekker kerstonbijt voor ons.  Na afloop viel Yekuno snel in slaap maar Saman was vol energie, zoals gebruikelijk wanneer we bij familie zijn. Omi had prepared us a real christmas breakfast.  Afterwards Yekuno feel asleep but Saman was bursting with energy, as usual when we are with relatives. 25/12/07

Gelukkig lukt het om 1 keer naar het strand te gaan.  Saman en Yekuno werden natuurlijk nat en kregen het koud, dus we konden niet lang blijven.  Wel precies op tijd voor deze prachtige zonsondergang. Luckily we managed to go to the beach - once.  Saman and Yekuno of course got wet and then cold, so we could not stay long.  Just in time for the magnificent sunset. 02/01/08
