I went out to the Tuesday track session at the Marymoor Velodrome for the Tuesday Night Track Practice Session tonite. It starts around 6:30pm and ended tonight around 8:30. It was pretty fun.
It's definitely a different kind of workout than road biking. I don't feel tired or get that 'high' from a long distance ride. You only really feel tired when you are actually on the track sprinting. But the fatigue goes away pretty quickly. I don't think I'll lose too much weight doing this. I think I should ride longer rides for that purpose.
At the end, me and this girl from the Recycled Cycles team sprinted, but I wasn't really aware that we were having a little friendly competition. By the time I realized that she wanted to beat me accross the line, I couldn't go any faster. I don't know if I could have beat her even if I knew she was trying. But since I've been biking only 5 months and have never done much of anything to do with physical fitness, I was happy that she didn't beat me by more than a wheel-length.
Lan couldn't go with me tonite because she's busy in lab. I'm still waiting for her to finish (It's 10:10pm).
I'm getting really hungry.
I guess I'll miss the Seward Park race this Thursday, since I'll be finishing the track class on Thursday. That's kind of a bummer. At least I'll save eight bucks.
On a different note, I have to work on my main index page on my Geocities page. The contents are getting fairly interesting (this set of biking journal entries, and the ACC homepage...), but the index page sucks big time.
