The Final Step To Love Part 2 Vincent woke up later than usual the next morning, Realizing the community was probably halfway through breakfast by now. Smiling he thought of the dreams he had last night of he and Catherine making love. "If only those wonderful dreams were real" said Vincent out loud. "Vincent my love", came a small voice beneath the covers, "they were real and magical at the same time." Turning toward her, he said "Catherine I thought I had imagined it." "Something as beautiful as what we shared could only be a dream." Leaning on her elbow Catherine looked at her love and said "let me show you how real it is. Taking his lips in a kiss she made love to her Vincent. A little later, Vincent said "I never thought it was possible for me to truly love a woman and she love me in return." "Father would say it could be dangerous, my differences make it so." "He said I could lose control of myself and hurt someone." "You saved me from myself.." "You changed how I feel about physical love." "Catherine because of you and your love for me, I feel as any other man." "I can love like any other man." Taking his lips to hers, she said "I never want to leave the shelter of your arms." "Let me be with you?" "I don't need my life Above." "All I need is you." "Let me give you back everything you have given me?" "Vincent let me love you forever here in your world.?" Taking her smaller hand into his larger one, he said, "Catherine I love you with all that I am." "Our love will never die." "But, I won't let you give up your life for me." "You have so much waiting for you Above, so many people who need you." "You cannot turn away from them for me.� " Catherine I don't regret what we shared last night and this morning." "All the feelings and images will be carried in my heart forever.� �I just wish we had not lost control." "You deserve better.� "You don't deserve the life I can give you." "I thought you loved me and I thought we shared the same dream." Beginning to cry. When Vincent went to comfort her, she moved away. Climbing out of his bed, she said, "Ok you feel you know what is best for me." "Well let me tell you what I do not want for me." "I do not want to live my life without you." "I cannot make love with anyone else but you." "I do not want a man loving me, touching me and taking my body as his own if it is not you." "Lastly I will not carry a child inside my womb that is not yours." "So if you feel that this is the life I should live, than I don't know you at all Vincent." Breaking down into tears. Climbing out of bed, Vincent went to her and took her in his arms. "Catherine, my love ssshh , please don't cry anymore." Placing his hand beneath her chin he raised her face to look into her eyes. "I want a life with you and I could not bear the thought of another man having you.� " Catherine I am sorry if I hurt you but I had to be sure this is what you really wanted." "Catherine I was giving you the chance to go." "Had you preferred a life above, I would not have stood in your way." "I would have been lost to myself without you but I would have let you go." "Taking her lips in a kiss he said, "you do not know how happy you have made me Catherine." "And , yes we share the same dream." "I want a life with you as well." Looking at her he took her tiny hand within his and said "Catherine will you?.. his questionnwas interrupted when father entered the chamber. Oh no, as he noticed Vincent's state of undress and although Vincent's body was shielding Catherine's, from his view, father knew she was undressed as well. Taking in the sight before him father said, "It is quite obvious what happened here last night and why you were late to breakfast." "Vincent you went against my words." "Yes father, said Vincent, Catherine and I became lovers last night." "We did not plan on doing so, it just happened." "Father we were both wrong." " I made love to Catherine and I did not hurt her." "Don't you see I can truly love her." "Son I am not pleased about this" said father. I tried to keep you safe all your life and you go against my wishes." "So if you will excuse me I am returning to my chamber I have suddenly lost my appetite for breakfast." "Vincent that didn't go very well" said Catherine. "He seemed angry and a little disappointed." "Yes Catherine he was." "Vincent you were going to ask me something before father came." "What was it?" "Sweetheart it will keep." "I am going to wash up and change." "Father and I need to talk." Pulling her in his arms, he left her with a kiss and a promise of more to come. "I love you Catherine please wait for me here." "After that kiss Vincent, I will wait for you anywhere."
