The End Of A Dream Part 9 By nightfall Catherine and Vincent had did just about everything a man and woman in love could do. He did not want to go home leaving Catherine alone but he could not disappoint the children by not reading them his nightly story. Standing in front of her he said, �it is so hard to leave you.� Lowering the straps on her nightgown he softly caressed the silkiness of her back, and brought her closer to him. "Catherine may I love you one last time before I go?� When she nodded yes, he lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bedroom. As darkness approached they said goodbye. Vincent promised her he would be back around midnight but she does not have to wait up for him as she needs her rest.� When Vincent returned at midnight he looked into her balcony doors and saw that Catherine was sound asleep. She looked so lovely and peaceful he decided not to wake her. Lying the book of �Sonnets" he brought with him on the patio table, he scribbled a note: I will see you tomorrow. I love you. V. Placing a white rose next to the note, he returned Below. Morning came and Catherine had never slept so well. She had the most wonderful dreams about she and Vincent. Climbing out of bed she walked out on her patio and smiled when she saw what Vincent had left for her. Reading the note she said, �I am sorry I missed you my love.� Smelling the rose, she went inside and placed it in a vase of water. Peter called her in the afternoon to see how she was recuperating. She told him �she was just fine.� �Having Vincent back was just what she needed.� �All right Cathy, I will come see you this evening before I go home.� After talking to Peter, she ate some lunch and took a shower. Throwing on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, she took a seat on the couch and began reading the book Vincent had left her. So engrossed in her reading, she lost track of time until she heard a knock on her door. �Who is it?�? �Cathy its Peter.� Opening the door, �come in.� �I was so into my book I did not hear you.� �Were you knocking for a while?� �No honey I wasn't.� �I must say you look so much better.� �How are you feeling.�? �Just wonderful now that Vincent loves me and we are back together.� �He told me this time it is forever.� �Cathy I am happy for both of you". "Now young lady let me check you out?� �You are coming along nicely and your lungs are almost clear.� �You still need rest though so do not over do it.� �I won�t Peter.� �Is there any chance that I can go Below for a few days?� �As long as you get rest and stay warm, there is no reason why you can�t.� Now young lady, I will be heading home.� �Call me if you need me.� �I will Peter and thanks, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Once Peter left Catherine was full of excitement knowing she was going to surprise Vincent by coming Below.
