Twenty years on the anniversary of her mother's death Catherine awoke upset
about a dream she had and instantly called her father.  He consoled her
during the day and Vincent consoled her in the evening on her balcony.  She
needed both of the men in she loved with her this day.  Vincent stayed till
dawn on her balcony holding her and providing comfort.  But right now
Catherine needed more from him.  She needed his love but knew he would not
help her with this.  He refuses to have an intimate relationship with her
so she will settle for what comfort he did offer.

The following night her father and his date asked her to join them for a
recital at a concert hall.  They told her she needed to get out maybe take
her mine off of her mother's death.  She was listening to the most
beautiful piano concerto and started to cry wishing Vincent could be there
with her.  The sadness became unbearable and she had to leave.  She told
her father she needed to get a tissue and left.  With tears in her eyes she
ran blindly through the park toward the tunnels she needed Vincent.  He met
her at the entrance sensing her unhappiness.  He gathered her in his arms
and asked why she is hurting so.  She told him about the concert of how he
would have loved the music and she could not enjoy it with him.  She needs
to be closer to him.  He told her he couldn't take such a risk and their
dream must end since he is only causing her to be unhappy.  She said no she
loves him and wants only him.  Vincent felt since he cannot give her the
relationship she wants and needs he must let her go to find someone who
can. His differences should not be her burden to bear as well.

Gathering all the courage he had inside he told her they must end.  She can
give the love she feels for him to someone else but remember how pure it
was to help her make the right decision.  She said NO she wants no one
else.  If she cannot have him she could not go on.  Catherine you have so
many opportunities waiting for you Above you do not need me keeping you
back.  Vincent I don't want these opportunities Above I only want you.  I
know Catherine but you cannot have me in the way that you desire and it is
hurting you.  You need a man who will love and cherish your body, give you
children and the love you need and deserve.  He gently looked into her tear
stained eyes and told her to find someone else to love and she will remain
a part of him forever and said goodbye.  He walked away closing the tunnel
door over her plea that she cannot live without him.

Vincent ran blindly through the tunnels experiencing the heartache and paid
he caused her and himself.  It just about killed him to let her go but he
had to.  He ran to his Chamber as the tears poured down his face.
Catherine on the outside was running home tears clouding her vision and did
not notice the headlights right away but luckily the car swerved in time to
miss her.  Vincent felt the initial fear but than it passed and was
replaced by the pain and heartache he caused her.  Catherine finally
reached home and fell carelessly on the couch tears streaming down her
face.  How could Vincent do this to us?  I thought he loved me eventhough
he never told me so. Maybe the depth of his love is not as strong as hers.
Maybe he no longer loves her or perhaps he never did.  Maybe he just felt
obligated to her after saving her life when she was brutally attacked a
year ago.  She may never know since he made it perfectly clear he no longer
wants them together.  She knows she will not be able to go on without
him. She slowly walked to her bedroom and took a bath to collect
her thoughts and try to deal with the hurt caused by Vincent's rejection.

After her bath she wrapped herself in a towel not bothering to put on
nightclothes laid upon her bed and cried herself to sleep.  As she slept
she had dreams of the happy times she and Vincent once shared.  Vincent
Below was experiencing his own dream of Catherine being with another man
that she could not love and who did not treat her as she deserved to be.
His ending their dream only caused her a miserable life with someone else.
He woke up with a start realizing that through his dream he now knows
Catherine can never be happy without him to love just as he would be
without her to love.  When their path crossed over a year ago it was their
destiny to be together.

Vincent knew what he had to do, he would be there for her in every way he
can except for one and hopefully it will be enough.  He climbed to her
balcony and noticed her balcony door was slightly ajar.  Catherine was
apparently too upset to lock it.  Vincent entered her apartment and noticed
her asleep on her bed wrapped in a towel.  She was even beautiful despite
her lovely face stained by tears.  He felt terrible knowing she must have
cried herself to sleep and it was entirely his fault.  He gently touched
her still damp hair and called her name.  She awoke to see Vincent standing
by the bed.  She jumped into his arms and he lifted her off her feet noticing
how little the towel she had on covered.  The thought of the towel being
the only barrier between them caused him to have arousing thoughts and
gently put her down.  Vincent I am sorry I had no right to embrace you like
that.

Catherine I have been thinking about us and realized I could not stand you with someone else.  I love you too much and cannot give you up to another man.  Please forgive me for hurting you and I promise I will never do it again.  Vincent you do love she said with tears in her eyes.  Catherine how could you doubt my love for you?  Well Vincent you never told me you loved
me until now, you do not want to make love to me and you pushed me away.
What was I supposed to think?  OH Catherine I am sorry for your pain.  How can I make it up to you?  Vincent you know how you can.  Catherine you know how I feel about this.  Vincent you do not desire me as I desire you.
Catherine you could be no more wrong.  I desire you so much that it is
frightening but I will not risk hurting you.  Vincent you ended up hurting
me anyway without us being intimate.  Yes, I guess you are right.  Vincent look at me and she dropped her towel.  Her delicate beauty left him
speechless.  He opened his arms for her and she walked into his embrace. He held her tight against him and told her she is absolutely beautiful and he would like to cherish her body and love  her as she deserves.  He
lifted her in his arms and laid her on the bed and removed his clothes.
When he was done his magnificent body took Catherine'' breath way.  He has the body of a god.  Vincent you are gorgeous and I need you. She need ask no more and they loved each other for the very
first time.

When they had finished Vincent told her what they just shared was
incredible and he was sorry he waited so long.  He will never again hold
back from anything that could sacrifice their love.  Smiling She snuggled
tighter within his embrace and   they drifted off as one into a lovers'
sleep as a new life  is created to continue their love.
