He heard the seriousness in Vincent voice. "What is it son?" "Catherine and I had a misunderstanding last night. I know I can fix it but there is something more important right now. " "What son?" "Narcissa told me Catherine was in danger from her past. I do not know what she means. He began to pace around the room. How can I protect her if I do not know what she means?" "Son calm down and think. What has happened to her from her past?" "Oh my god, father I know. Her old boyfriend Steven has returned to New York. He is dying. He needed her he has no family or friends. She has been spending time with him helping him cope with his illness." "Vincent son is he dangerous." "Father, I do not know." "All I know is that he still loves her and he wants her back." "Than that has to be it Vincent. It is too early for you to go above." "Send her a message ask her not to leave her apartment until you come to her." " Try not to frighten her." " Tell her you need to talk, tell her you love her." " In the meantime I will see if I can get Peter to check on her until you get there." "Thank you father. I will send the note right away." Giving his parent a kiss on the cheek he left. Father looked after him as he left. "It will be find Vincent. I just know it." The letter was written and delivered to Catherine as Vincent planned. She was late getting ready still thinking of what happened between she and Vincent and wondering if she should go with Steven. She was getting an uncomfortable feeling about this. She quickly got into the shower not paying attention to the note that had been slid under her door. She was in the middle of washing up when her doorbell rang. She looked at her watch on the sink it was 6:45 that had to be Steven. Wrapping herself in a towel she ran to door and opened it telling him she would be ready shortly. She asked him to take a seat and ran back into the bathroom. Steven was looking around her apartment seeing so much of her in it. They he saw her purse. He went inside and retrieved her driver's liscense and her cell phone. Picking up her phone, he went to walk to the kitchen and saw the note. He picked it up and laid her cell phone on the sink, he started to place the note there as well. Than decided to read it. Catherine "Please wait for me at home." " I will be there after dark." " It is very important." " We need to talk about last night." I love you. V. The note angered Steven he balled it up and put it in his pocket. "No sir "Mr.V" Cathy will not get this note." "Not when everything is so close." Catherine finished her shower in record time. Changed and dressed she told Steven she was ready to go. She looked one last time at her apartment making sure nothing was left on and saw her cell phone on the sink. (thinking how did that get out of my purse) "Steven I forgot something." " Go to the elevator I will be right behind you." She quickly ran into her apartment and got her phone. Putting it in her purse she closed the door behind her. Below father called Vincent to his chamber. "He told him he could not get the message to Peter he was in surgery. " "Hopefully his note arrived in time."
