He kept touching the elevator down button over and over again. She guessed it was from the excitement of showing her his new home. "Steven sometimes this elevator does take a little while to come." "Cathy we have to get going." Time is of the essence here, he continued pushing the button. Finally it came, he ushered her inside pushing the first floor button. She noticed he seemed even more anxious now that they were on their way. He was pacing the floor, whispering under his breath come on come on. She was getting very comfortable again. Steven was acting different. They reached their designation. He ushered her off the elevator again. Once outside they walked to his car. Catherine was waiting for Steven to open her door when she got this sudden urge to drive herself. "Steven I think I should take my car so you do not have to leave your home tonight to bring me back." "Nonsense Cathy I will take you in my car." He opened the passenger door, for her to get in. Once she was seated, he locked the door and went around to the driver�s side. He opened his door and than asked,� if she was sure her car was locked up?" "Yes Steven I am pretty sure?" "I am parked on the first floor." �I can go check it out to be sure." "No Cathy let me go, check for you." �You drive a gray sedan and he verified her license plate number." "I will be back in one moment." While he was gone Catherine got this sudden need to let Peter know where she was going. She called his office first than his home and received his answering machine. "Hi Peter this is Cathy, you remember Steven Bass well he is back in New York he has just brought a house. I am going with him to see it. I don't know exactly where is it located. It is about an hours drive out of the city. I will be back tonight. As Catherine called Peter Steven found her car. Reaching in his pocket, he pulled out her license. Laying it on the ground about five feet from her car, he smiled and said that should do it. Reaching in his other pocket, he pulled out the small remote control. He was just at the exit of the garage and said,. "this will take care of everything." "Cathy will be mine.� He pushed the small red button and left. Catherine had just put her phone away when Steven returned. Opening his door. �Your car was fine Cathy.� �Now let us get going.� They had been driving for a few minutes when Steven looks at his watch. �Hey Cathy sit back and enjoy the ride I will put on the radio so we can hear some music as we drive.� Catherine had just settled back and closed her eyes, when she heard a loud explosion; it startled her she quickly sat up. "Oh my god Steve did you hear that?" "What was it?� "I don�t know Cathy whatever its was, we were away from it.� �So are you ready to see my home?� "Steven are you not the least bit concerned what that noise was?� "Cathy since it does not concern us I do not care." �Well I am turning up the radio maybe we can hear something.� She tried various stations finally she heard it. "Late breaking news�. There seems have been an explosive in one of New York's most popular parking garages. The explosion is currently under investigation. It appears that a car exploded in one of the lower garages. The police have no leads but they were able to determine the make of the car from its remains. It was a gray sedan." "We are not sure of the owner at this time. The police did find a New York driver�s license not far from the explosion." "It belongs to a woman. "Until further investigations are made, we cannot release the name of the woman at this time. Stay tuned for more details as they come in. "OH my god Steven I have a car like that." "I hope no one got hurt." "Well Cathy they did not mention that anyone did so let us take about us. (Catherine found Steve�s behavior strange usually he was more caring). His words interrupted her thoughts. �Do you remember the dream house we wanted? �The rich red brick, the glass windows and the beautiful garden we had planned on making?." "Yes Steven I remember.� � We had wanted to put a pond in the backyard.� "It was a nice dream Steven.� �One that is over now." "Cathy it does not have to be over." They had been driving in silence for about a half an hour when another newflash came over the radio. "This is an update to our recent Story. It appears that there was a bomb planted underneath the Sedan. They have no suspects at this time. "They found a body of a woman in the car. "Oh my god Steve did you hear that?" They do know the owner of the car from the license found nearby. The car belongs to **Steven immediately slipped in a CD shutting of the radio. "Steven why did you do that?" "This is a time for us to be happy." �We do not need to hear any distressing news.� � I have enough going on in my life right now." Catherine was not happy being unable to hear the rest of the broadcast but she respected Steven's feelings. He did not need to hear about death." They continued the rest of the drive in silence. Although Catherine did not hear the owner of the car, Peter had. He received Jacob's message around 7:30 after he was done with surgery . He was heading to Catherine's apartment when he heard the explosion. It was in the parking garage below it. The police would not let anyone near the scene so he patiently waited in his car listening to the radio until he could go in. As he listened to the radio another broadcast came in. They had more details regarding the explosion. The announced that the car belonged to Catherine Chandler of the DA's office. �Oh my god that was Cathy's car?� He immediately called her apartment. After a few rings her answering machine came on. When the message was done, he called her "Cathy are you there?" Please pick up. Silence, Cathy please pick up." He got no response. He called one of the helpers and asked them to get a message to father right away. Below Vincent was pacing father's chamber. He was still getting this sense that something was wrong. He kept hoping for the time to come when he could go to Catherine. He hoped Peter was with her now. A little later Jamie�s came into father�s chamber out of breath. "Father Vincent I have an urgent message from above." She handed the message to father. He read it "oh my god." �Father what is it. asked Vincent?�. �This is from Peter and he handed him the note I am sorry son.� Jacob I did not get your message to go to Catherine until 7:30. I was on my way to her apartment. There was a car explosion in the parking garage below her building it kept me from getting to her. The police said they found the remains of a body in what was left of the car."The next words were smeared as if they had gotten wet." The car belonged to Cathy. I do not know anymore. The building was evacuated. "I don't know where Cathy is. I will let you know as soon as I find her. Peter Vincent let out a roar of despair. "No it cannot be my Catherine I would know it." "Son we don't know for sure. What about your Bond, can you sense her, anything?� "No father, nothing." "It is blocked for some reason�. "Vincent I am sure she is fine."
