| Final Fantasy 1: Kicked off the Final Fantasy series and set the standard for RPG's everywhere Final Fantasy 2: Unreleased in the USA and ive never played it myself, but have come to the conclusion based on the opinions of others that it is equal in excellence to Final Fantasy 1 Final Fantasy 3: *Shrug* never played, heard it was better than 1 and 2 Final Fantasy 4: I have played this game... even though i dont remember it but at any rate it introduced one of the greatest characters of all time the dark knight/paladin Cecil Final Fantasy 5: Released only in Japan at first, then for some reason they released it over here but its a good thing they did, this game plays in a unique style with some interesting job classes Final Fantasy 6: This is marks the begining of all Final Fantasy excellence, when you look back on this game you remember just how great it was. Infact this game would have recieved a higher rating if the graphics and sound were slightly better. Final Fantasy 7: The absolute pinnacle of Final Fantasy games this will raise the bar for all RPG's everywhere to a new level. One of the greatest RPG's of all time and it deserves every bit of praise that it recieves. Having brought us such superior heroes as Cloud and Vincent and one of the best villains of all time Sephiroth. This my friends is Final Fantasy at its best Final Fantasy Tactics: A new and interesting approach on Final Fantasy involving more strategy that previous games and certinately a great game. I have finaly got around to playing tactics... a few times, well about 150+ hours worth and i have to say that it comes the closest to FFVII as any final fantasy has ever come. Very VERY time consuming once you get into the game, with its great storyline and what not. Final Fantasy 8: In the past i have REALY bashed this game, if youve seen the site before this revision you will know that, and allthough I dont neccessarily believe that this game is not all together good there are some good parts of it so i changed the rating making it more fair for those FF8 fans out there. Final Fantasy 9: Well... this game bothers me to, notice it scored just above the first two games.. even though it costs a million times more to produce, oy what are you thinking Square? Final Fantasy 10: A much better game than the pool of pestilence square threw out before it, however not as good as the days of old. Tidus as a main character bothered me. It seems like every character square makes recently has to look and act like a douche. Zidane, Tidus, and even Vaun. Wakka is a horrible character, no one liked blitzball even if you think you liked it you didnt. Since i dont have any paintshop or photoshop programs im just going to give this one a number rating. 60/100 which would rank it on par with FF8 Final Fantasy 11: What? Final Fantasy 12: Oh christ.. where to begin. This game was absolutely wonderful in the first few hours. Actualy its pretty good even until near the end. As long as your still under the illusion that there is going to be some huge story progression. This illusion of course completely shatters once you get to the top of the pharos. You find out that its the end of the game and nothing realy happened in the story.. at all.. nothing. So your left with the feeling of.. Thats it? Yes that is it. The dungeons are nice, battle system is solid and even characters were decent (except Vaun) even though there was nearly no backstory on any of the characters especialy Penello. This could have been a realy great game but it utterly failed as far as the story went. Amazing game at first, but at the end it all goes up in smoke. I give it a 40/100 just because pretty much everything but the story was good. |
| First let me state the Scaling ranges (0-10) Horrible peice of crap game that should never have made it off the drawing board once the producers saw that it was doomed to failure. (11-20) A good RPG back in the olden days might have been placed much higher, however todays standards are a bit higher. These games are still good, but face it they are pretty outdated. (21-30) In this range you will find only one game. This is the kind of eehhh... range where you dont realy know if a game is bad or average. (31-40) These are the pretty average RPG's by todays standards, not bad or not good fun to play in your spare time but i wouldnt dedicate loads of hours playing them. (41-50) If a game is in this range then you know its pretty good, these are the types of games you want to sit down and play for a few hours at a time. (51-60) There are no games in this range so i wont go into great detail explaining. This range is basicaly the average Great RPG. (61-70) Now we enter the upper echelon of video games. These games should be treasures and put on pedistals with elaborate decorations and played very frequently and beat at least 3 times. (71-80) No games here but just add a few more luxurous things for your game cartridge or CD. (81-90) These games are the best of the best it doesnt get much better than this, games of this caliber should be produced gold plated and come in velvet covers... but thats just my opinion. These games you MUST beat at least 4 or more times. (91-100) There are only a handful of games EVER to achieve this rank, Star Ocean 2, Final Fantasy 7, and Chrono Trigger and ive heard Xenogears might be here too. A game in this highest of high rankings should have its own servants and should be worshiped like a god and lavished with expensive jewelry and human sacrifices. Every human alive needs to at least play these games recomended 200+ hours of play. |
