Chainmail Jewelry by Erika Ford

Years ago I started to make jewelry.  Simple things at first, like making a pleasing pattern and stringing that pattern onto different types of string or wire.

As I became more interested I began to explore all the different thngs one could make with wire, beads, stones and creative thought.  From simple strung necklaces and bracelets I branched out into the world of wire wrapping.  Wire wrapping expanded my knowledge of jewelry making to include making my own pendants and charms out of beads and stones.  Wrapping the different sizes of wire to make curly-cues, spirals, and beautiful pieces was interesting and fun.

I bagan gathering magazines and books that gave me more inspiration and fed my interest in making jewelry.  It was in one book that I was given the knowledge on how to link jump rings (a small building component in jewelery making) to make fantastical and intricate works of art.  All of the different weaves captivated me to try them and to explore my own chainmail ideas.

I have compiled several of my completed chainmail projects here for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy!
