A/N: Ok, this is the first weird short story I had to write at the Fantasy book club I'm in.  This is how the game works: You pick 8 random cards and an ending, then try to incorporate them all into the story.  Try to spot them all!!!!!

There were many people in the land of Cia.  There were the wizards.  There were the stupid peddlers that never did anything but...well...peddle.  But of course, there was the usual tyrant, Lord Shroo (A/N: Yes, it's not Shrew.)
No one in the kingdom knew him personally.  Everyone that ever met Lord Shroo mysteriously vanished, most likely dead.  No one knew why.  Then again, no one bothered to find out.
Except for one.  An orphan by the name of Elijah Lark always thought the Lord was insane.  Who else would rule with such evil?  Then again, Elijah was a bit blind to everything obvious.  When you are a thief (which he was), obvious solutions are scarce, so you forget about them alltogether.  No wonder Elijah was so lucky when it came to thieving.  He was smart enough to think.
He set off to the giant palace of the Lord.  Elijah looked up at the gates.  Or should I say he looked slightly down?  The gates were non-existent.  Elijah ran to the palace and climbed up to Lord Shroo's bedroom.  He was getting too confident and was planning to kill the evil tyrant.  After getting through the window, Elijah saw it.
No, he didn't see the Lord.  He saw a tiny glass bird on Lord Shroo's bookshelf.  It was glowing a venomous green.  Elijah liked greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen...
He walked to the glass bird and picked it up.  His fingers started to burn and his heart started to beat faster.
So this is what killed everyone that went to see the Lord, he thought.  It's some kind of venom in there.  The poison will kill us all!

With that, Elijah sub-consciously threw the bird onto the floor and it started leaking its poisonous gas.  Everyone in the land-including Elijah and Lord Shroo-died.  Somewhere, rotting in the earth, th kingdom rejoices at the end of the tyrant's reign, and will til the end of time.

The End
Moral: When in doubt, kill off your characters.
