THE COMBINATION METHOD

| In this one we can just use the same problems. | y=2x-1 and 8=x+y |
| For the combination method its easiest to put both variables on one side and the integer on the other. | (+1)=2x+(-y) and 8=x+y, 1=2x-y and 8=x+y |
| Multiply the two equations (if nessacery), then just add the two equations together. | 2x-y=1 + x+y=8 3x=9, x=3 wow that was simple!? |
| Then to finish the equation just solve for y. | 2(3)-y=1, 6-y=1, y=1(+5) |
| And the answer is... | (3,5) |
What is this supposed to be hard? Show me how to graph.
