THE NEXT STOP ON THIS MAGICAL JOURNEY IS PLUNDER ISLAND AND

THE COMBINATION METHOD

In this one we can just use the same problems. y=2x-1 and 8=x+y
For the combination method its easiest to put both variables on one side and the integer on the other. (+1)=2x+(-y) and 8=x+y, 1=2x-y and 8=x+y
Multiply the two equations (if nessacery), then just add the two equations together. 2x-y=1

+ x+y=8

3x=9, x=3 wow that was simple!?

Then to finish the equation just solve for y. 2(3)-y=1, 6-y=1, y=1(+5)
And the answer is... (3,5)

What is this supposed to be hard? Show me how to graph.

Can i see the main page again?

Wait a second now i forgot how to substitute.
