Welcome to the _Felix Theorem web site!!!

02/07/07

Have we been useless? I think so!! Its been far far far too long and actually, its about time this band-geek gave the site a revamp. But enough of the moaning. On Friday, Felix took out rockquest again!! Yussssss!!! So that's another $500 in the band kitty and $150 for winning best vocalist. We played a song we'd finished only the night before but managed to play it flawlessly. We're stoked, but tired. very very tired!! In other news we've played a gig with my life story and chamberlain, played a few other little gigs here and there and have a single coming out on a compilation. Album work is progressing slowly but they say good things take time and vintage is always better. Right! I'm going to make like a tree and leaf... leave..leefs? Anyway I'm going!

Ahh yes why hello there! The town of Mauriceville was alive yesterday with the sound of music when Felix played a show at the Mauriceville annual country fair! With the though of it being a 'country' fair the boys didn't really know what to expect however after our first set we were feeling good about the show. We had a lot of good positive feedback and finished the second set absolutely stoked to have played! Much love and fuzzies to all who attended the fair, and Bill and Norma Dunn for the organization of the day. The only down side? Joel, the balloon guy failed to mention that he'd have made me a balloon 'dog in a waka' for free had I requested but I had no money so didn't bother asking! What the doose??

Well hasn't it been awhile since more news went up!! The boys have been busy studying...... and stuff..... so felix news has been a bit slow however we played a show last saturday at our school's christmas festival (yes we know its Novemeber and everyone hates christmas anyway but hey, lets have some spirit) and we were very quickly told to a) turn it down and b) turn it off. We did the latter with the comment that we would not play to a crowd of people that had their fingers over their ears and hearing aids turned off. Cheers for the support keale! The guy fawkes gig was shoved aside by senior staff also, stating that they were happy to have it so long as no bands from other schools played with us. This was the last straw for us and we canned the idea. The objective was to build a stronger networking of Wairarapa bands, holding regular gigs and trying to show people the wide range of talent we have in our region. But never fear! It will still happen! Just at a later stage and it won't include fire works and wont be at keale.... We shall stay positive with the prospect of recording in our minds and the resonant love we have from you amazing people! On a last note, our buddies Foetal Position have finished recording and have released an E.P. which if I'm not mistaken is entitled Innuendo....don't quote me.... Copies are availabale for $10 at Sounds in Masterton. GET ONE! You have my word it's good. Peace friends, news and current events spell SHIT right now (media are dicks anyway) but felix are still rocking, and music is all that counts now!

Hi guys!Felix Theorem made their debut television performance on a rockquest series last night on c4. Disappointingly the media (once again jumped on the "lets-F#$K-this-up" bandwagon), kinda screwed us over calling us under confident!! Honestly you dont get much more confident then a pom, a ginga drummer with an unusual fetish for leather and an un-co singer!! However any publicity is good publicity so we were happy to take it! Felix have new tracks and dare I say it I think we might have found our sound...... More to come later though! There's an early recording of first light star on our myspace so check it out!!

10/09/06

Hey everyone again another late update!!Well to be quite honest the last week has not been very pleasant all round!! The death of the crocodile hunter Steve Irwin and bathurst legend Peter Brock have dampened already dampened spirits!! The boys found out earlier on this week we didn't make semis for rockquest! But hey we wont let it be a downer anymore, well still rock on!! We've secured a gig in Mauriceville in November, more details later. Take care friends!!

I sit here falling asleep at 1am in the morning so please bare with me as i babble: Well the last few weeks have seen the band play with Autozamm!! A sweet as chat with them before the gig allowed us to get some first hand tips on how to survive in the industry. This was followed by a spot of lunch and a concert. Autozamm opened and played like the finest music we've ever heard ever!!! After we played we were able to chat to them some more and get some feed-back on our performance!!It was to put it simply uber sweet!! Hopefully some press coverage will result... In other news the boys are looking now to head into a spot of recording shortly! And whats more there are tracks going up for you to listen to on our myspace page!!! Lastly we'd like to extend once again a warm hand of gratitude to all those who have supported us, in particular Mrs Glendinning, offering us some financial support we really really appreciate. Thanks so much guys, keep buying our badges so we can give you the very best theorem possible. As war looms and gloom wars across our television sets, newspapers and other sources of media may the boys remind you that whenever you should experience general crap in your lives it can always be counteracted with the right music. Music can create any mood you will it to, good or bad. It is a powerful tool, however we see it as our duty to provide you with the right kind of music, subtle yet thought provoking, simple yet powerful, easy going but deep.... Did you like that? Told you I'd babble. Now you stay classy San Diego, and thanks for stopping by....

Alright everybody the news just keeps getting better! We sold our first badge to Tom and James today, haha the new coins make me feel like I'm playing with toy money. Tar and feathering to the coin makers for bringing out such utterly STUPID monetary utensils!!! On a lighter note, a private sponsor, Ross Hilton, has very generously donated $100 for the _felix kitty (hey, isn't felix a kitty??). We are forever indebted to him for his sponsorship!! So, with bags of money hanging around our necks we prepare ourselves for the news of our rockquest make or break. Wish us luck!!

04/08/06

Well it's been awhile since we updated the site huh! The last couple of weeks have seen the trio shoot, edit and cut a dvd to send away for this years rockquest task. All went fairly well and we encountered little difficulty. This is largely thanks to James Pearson, our technical cat!! In other news we are very lucky to have received sponsorship from the Matador motel in Carterton. We are massively greatful and it will definately get us that much closer to recording!! And lastly, THE BADGES HAVE ARRIVED PEOPLE!!!! They will be available from Monday for $2. See Vini to purchase one!!! Happy phunking!

20/07/06

Hey party people! The Gods of rock have once again blessed the boys with sweet sweet rewards. AUTOZAMM are going to be playing with us at Keale!! 18th of August is all we know so far as time goes. More details to come. In other news, there are a couple of freaky pics on the set. One of Chambo and I and one of our friend John. Ahhhh John, such a lovely young fellow. Sorry we didn't mention you on C4 (he was guttered (gutted?!?!?!) we didn't). Much love to all you people. Chambos back from I've-been-all-around-the-world-and-am-too-cool-for-New-Zealand land and is stoked to be back _Felix fighting. A new bass has meant hes only more keen to play phunky beats. That's all for now, we love you all.

14/07/06

Hello again, holidays are drawing to a close but let that not be a downer!! To be quite honest it simply brings the band closer to playing for all you lovely people!! Its taken 3 days to update the site and for all three of us I believe it still hasn't sunk in that that WE ACTUALLY WON!!!!!!!!!! As well as taking out the overall competition we also received the award for the best song, which says to us that we didn't just win because lots of people showed up to root for us!!! It was a really awesome night everyone was so supportive backstage, much love must go out to all the other bands who competed, (personal favourites being Dude, it's a llama! Obsidian and S.K.U.X), you all really do rock! On the cards now is a professional recording courtesy of Warner music to be put on the Smokefree Rockquest 2006 compilation and a 15 minute video clip we have 25 days as of today to complete. This is made difficult considering our bass player is currently overseas but we will do it! Also coming up is a c4 tv interview and a concert at Keale with another band, we're all madly awaiting to hear what band it is! What's more? We get to charge you miserable sods for coming and keep the profits for our efforts! Not bad eh? So these holidays for me is taken up mostly by writing new material and wallowing in my currently oversized ego, so really just another day...nah just kidding. But seriously, a huge thank you to everybody who came, we're absolutely nothing without you guys (except stunningly good-looking). Thanks once again to rockquest and all its branches and the bands that played aswell. Take care on your holiday, drive safely!! We need your support in the future! See you all soon! With pictures on our website and badges.... hopefully.... if James our graphics designer gets his ass into gear...

30/06/06

Alright everyone I feel I should update one more time before rockquest. We played to another college (our own this time) yesterday morning and all went well!! Hope to see you tonight, wish us luck!!

28/06/06

Kia Ora!! The month of June has seen the rockinfreakapotamuses (shot chambo...nice word...:>) prepare themselves for rockquest, rockin' out in the St Matthews Collegiate hall at a way-too-early-in-the-morning gig. However it went well and we got a taste of their own band Deshoolayces, also playing at rock quest on Friday. Best of luck to them!! Thanks to Ash for setting off my car alarm numerous times, you never cease to amaze. Badges will soon be available so have your couch cash at the ready. See you at rock quest!!

01/06/06
