Class Facilitator: Ms. Felicia E-mail: [email protected] Goals and Objectives � Students will understand that art has tones � Students will understand that art communicates � Students will present their art at monthly school bazaars. Expectations Student will come to class with materials (see below) and ready to participate in activities Materials Student should bring to class: a. Two Student folders a. Student folder should have student�s name (First and Last), and class title (e.g. Art 7) written in the bottom right corner on the front of the folder. b. Students will submit their folders each week to the collection area. When work is returned, student will place work in 3" ring binder.. c. Students will alternate through use of folders each week (as one will be in teacher possession) b. Two (2) pencils with eraser(s) (can be separate) for weekly quizzes c. Pens (any type except permanent markers; gel pens should be approved by teacher) d. Art box with... e. colored pencils f. crayons g. watercolors h. scissors i. water-based markers j. glue stick k. handheld manual (non-electric/ non-battery opearted) pencil sharpener Class Periods: One (1) 45-minute period for discussions/ preparation for presentations Block Period: (5 minutes) Think-write-pair-share: Evaluating artwork -- recording title, artist, emotion, theme. Returned work should be kept in student folder. (10 minutes) Instruction in and discussion of artistic techniques (30 minutes) Activities to present artwork (two periods per art activity). Students will finish activities for homework if not completed after two periods. Returned work in student folder. (Homework) Liked and learned from instruction and activity.
