Ways to involve yourself in your reading:

1.  Ask yourself:  "What would I do if this was happening to me?"
Did you know that there is a series of books called Choose Your Own Adventure, where you can decide what happens next?

2.  Ask yourself: "How does this make me feel?"
Did you know that there are books that are based on real-life?  Many times, authors take real-life experiences, but change some of the details.

3.  Read a book that talks about what it might have been like "back in the day"
Did you know that there are books that we put in the category of historical fiction?  Authors take real-life events of the past, and include characters to show what life might have been like for that character.
