What's Happening in Grade Four...
1.  Christmas Gift Exchange was held today.  Thanks to all students for taking time to create a gift for their friend!  Thanks also to students who brought in refreshments.
2.  "The Jingle Bell Stomp"
Tonight!!!!  6pm in the gym!
3.  Little Brother and Sister ABC Books We presented our ABC books to our little brothers and sisters earlier this week, reading to them, and then taking time to play together.  Thank you students for your hard work in creating books for our 11 pre-schoolers!
4.  Progress Reports Thank you for signing and returning them promptly.  A few are still out.  Please sign and return asap.
5.  Reading Logs December Reading Logs will be added to over the Christmas break!  They should have 18 entries by the end of the month, and are due on January 3, 2005..
6.  Spelling Bee  Students received Spelling Bee booklets.  We will have a class spelling bee when we return from break (date TBA).  Then, three students from our class will go to compete against three students from each of Grades 5-8.  The top students will compete in Gallup later.  If students would like to practice over the break, and receive a sticker for their card, they may complete the spelling activities that are found in their spelling workbooks.
7.  Science Fair is coming!  We have discussed in class the proper format for their write-ups...  (1) Problem/Topic/Question; (2) Hypothesis; (3) Materials and Procedure; (4) Observations; (5) Conclusions.  Students have the option of working independently, or with a group.  If the students choose to work in a group, their project will be more in-depth than the others (as there are more students to put out their brainwork!)  Students should have a topic before returning to school in January.  If students would like to conduct their experiments over the Break, they may!  Please use precautions!
8.  Math Extra Work for Stickers for Cards If students would like to practice additional math over the break, they may complete the Extra Practice activities in their textbooks.
