What's Happening in Grade Four...
1.  Upcoming Dates.

-- March 14-16th:  3rd Quarter Exams
2.  Student Progress Reports went home last week. Please sign & return.
3.  Student Composition Books and Pink PocketsEach student needs a roll of clear tape for upcoming work with composition book and pink pockets.
4.  Thank you:
--Linda for coming in to speak about your work at Home/Health (and bringing two guests!)
--Syverson, Lorraine, and Mirenda for chaperoning on the Wolf Sanctuary field trip; Roberta for hot cheetos and Capri Sun for snacks
--Alonso, Linda, and Mr. No for chaperoning on our poetry reading trip to El Morro.  Our first place students received $10 each; our 2nd and 3rd place students received $5 each, in addition to their certificates and a copy of the published writings from this years Writing Competition.
5.  What we're working on:
--
Short Story Project.  Brochures were given to students last week on Friday.  Students have selected characters and begun work on the plots and settings.  If timing goes well, we will enter the short story writing contest.
--
Computer-aided graphics.  We will be entering a poster contest for Earth Day.  On Thursday, we will be learning to use computer drawing programs to create our posters.
6.  Family Reading Night and Class Meeting was held last Thursday.  Thanks for all the snacks!  Notes:
--
Easter Raffle Basket from Class.  We decided to make homemade items (potholders, aprons, picture frames, etc.) to include in the basket.  If it is non-perishable, please bring it in by March 17th.  If it is a baked good, bring it in on the day of the raffle.
--
Indian Day Dance. Our top three choices (in order) are:  Buffalo, Deer, Turkey.  I will submit our choices to Mr. Ghahate and the Committee.
--
Fundraising.  We discussed creating craft items (and bake sale items) for the weekend open markets in front of the Tribal Building.  We need families to sign up for shifts.
--
Spring Performance.  Plans for a spring play/songs in April at the Senior Center.
--
Next class meeting (with basketball!) on WEDNESDAY, March 23rd.
