7/23/02: Update on Rick's music project
Counter Culture is my musical side project. I am currently in the process of recording a 5 song CD. So far, so good. I can't wait for you to hear what I have to offer. Randomness Job Status: unemployed (as usual) Life Status: clinically depressed. desperately wanting to start over in life. aching for a love. bouting with chronic feelings of self-doubt and hopelessness. now go out and love the world. What I want to be when I grow up: a musical or political figure who is feared by many, many people. Turn Ons: mysterious gothic women, intelligence, dark sense of humor. women in their 30's and hell, their 40's too (i get a lot of shit for that). nose rings, brow rings or bars and tattoos. jet black hair with green, purple or red streaks. Turn Offs: your car, your cell phone, your 2-faced nature. mainstream whores, what a bunch of bores. "i like ac dc because um, ya know, their guitars are good and stuff", OH SHUT UP! Places I'd like to have sex someday: in a deep dark forest, on a Caribbean beach (at night), on top of the John Hancock building, behind a waterfall, in a cave, in a haunted castle, in a canoe, on the grassy plains of Kansas or Nebraska. Fears: the christian fundamentalists, religious extremists, deep water, amphibians, dying in my sleep, dying alone, government, television, Americans, corporate control over modern life, technology. Favorite Quote: "don't mistake lack of talent for pure genius"- Type O Negative Favorite City: Chicago. It will always hold a special place in my heart. When I die: I don't want to look back on my life with regret or shame. Music: 80's Goth, Darkwave, Darkbeat, Synth-Pop, some Nu-Metal, Industrial, Trance, Dance. Some favorite pastimes: listening to my favorite music in a pitch dark room, laying in bed and loathing the outside world, rollerblading, recreational biking, camping, pc/online gaming, writing about how miserable I am and how dreary life in general is, long walks at night, searching for inner-salvation, playing guitar (i'm an admitted hack guitarist), composing music (or at least trying to!) posing like Christopher Hall in the mirror and trying to look all evil and stuff, sketch art, computer arts and graphics, finding humor in stupid stuff, watching movies, poetry, daydreaming. Some talents: I don't have any outstanding talents. I'm so-so good at this, and so-so good at that, that's about it.
