***Three Days Later*** - Thursday
Today was the day that Duncan, Lee and Katy were going back to London. I was going to be very lonely with Dunk's company; I wouldn't leave his side yesterday. He was reassuring me that we be together again very soon once he is back from d trips around the world with the band. I had told Katy yesterday in confidence that I was thinking d relationship with Duncan wasn't going to last more than two months with him being with the band and I at home in the process of looking for a job. She told me to tell Duncan about my worries before they leave Kerry but I didn't tell him at all. The three were ready and packed. My cousin came back to collect the car we hired, Duncan and I paid half-half for the hiring of the car. The four of us had dinner at the pub once again before they leave this evening. I had booked a taxi to bring them to the airport and I was going with them too. I was quiet on the way to the airport. Duncan kept asking me "Was I okay?". I told him I'm fine. Then I got a text message on my fone, it was Katy asking me "Had I told him yet?" I text her back saying "No, and I'm not going to anyway." We arrived at the airport in time for their flight; their flight was leaving at six o'clock. They checked in at the desk, we walked around the airport until the announcement is called out. So, I hugged Katy and thanked her for the fun times between London and Kerry. Lee coughed and said to me "Do I get a hug?" I laughed "Ya, of course" giving him a hug! I whispered to Lee "Take care of Dunk for me and keep him away from the mad fans!" "Okies, I will do, babe!". We laughed. By the time I turned around to face Duncan, I had tears in my eyes. "Babe, I'm gonna miss you so much" "Catherine, I miss you too." I was crying uncontrollably, I could feel Lee and Katy's eyes staring at us. Duncan and I kissed before he went to board the plane. I waved to him until he disappeared from my eyes. I went outside to the car park and watched the plane take off. I got into the taxi and went home; I paid for the trip back and forth. I was moping around the house feeling lonely and miserable without Duncan. Then, my mobile was ringing and it was Duncan, they were arriving at the airport. We talked for a while. I went out for a walk on my own to clear my head. The rest of the night, I watched telly and went to bed to catch up on sleep thinking of him�
*Flashback*
In the past two days, the four of us went around the Ring of Kerry, stopping in the village where my sister and her own family live and we went shopping in Tralee and other places. We had a great time at my sister's house. Duncan and I collected my niece from school, she hadn't met the hyper Lee and Katy yet, they came with us to collect her. She was delighted when she saw me at the school gates almost knocking me down, I could see Duncan smiling and laughing at us. Noreen went all shy and quiet when she saw Lee and Katy, she knew who Lee was! She had already met Duncan the other day, she whispered to me in the car "Duncan is lovely"! Duncan had heard it and said to her "Aw, thank u Noreen". She sat in between Lee and Katy in the back, with Lee and Katy were talking to her, she wasn't saying much though! We brought her home, she had her dinner, and then Dunk and I helped her with her homework while Lee and Katy were with the other kids having fun! After a while, we all headed off to the hotel a few minutes drives to check in and have dinner. Duncan and I offered to mind the kids that night so my sister and her husband can go out for a few drinks. Lee and Katy were staying at the hotel. We had fun minding them despite the eldest two were driving me mad when they kept going to the kitchen looking for something to eat/drink when they were supposed to be in bed, but Duncan managed to calm me down. My sister was texting me how the kids were behaving and all that. I texted her back saying "they are all in bed asleep and not to worry." Duncan and I must have fell asleep when they came in from d pub just after half eleven! (Note: Pubs are supposed to be closed at half eleven on Thursday over ere! Stupid laws!) We stayed another while talking to them, and then we headed back to the hotel. We bumped into Katy and Lee in the hall at the hotel, half drunk! Someone was calling my name when I was going upstairs, I turned around to see who it was and it was my aunt's husband who had just finished work. I chatted to him for a few minutes, as usual he met Duncan. I told him I call by at the house in the morning! I fell asleep once I got into the bed. The following day, we went to my aunt as promised! We dropped by to my sister's to say goodbye! We finished up our trip in Killarney. We spent the rest of d day at my local pub getting drunk before they headed back to London. Katy and Lee were staying at the local B&B's that night. So that's what had happened over the past couple of days.
Chapter 15
***A Week Later*** - Thursday
I spent all week sending my CV's to different places, half of them never replied. It was getting annoying. Duncan had been in touch with me all the week while he was travelling with the band. He was ringing, texting and emailing me with romantic messages.
Later in the day, Duncan rang me, we talked for a while. Then he mentioned he got a surprise for me! He told me to pack my bags and go to the airport, there's a ticket at the desk for me for a flight to London! But it wasn't the only surprise. I spent the next hour stuffing my clothes, etc in my bag. Luckily, my brother was at home to drive me to the airport, I almost left my passport behind; my mom luckily asked me have I got it! I grabbed my passport and got into the car straight to the airport. 25 minutes later, I arrived there in time, made my way inside to the RyanAir desk to pick up my ticket and checked in. I rang Duncan waiting for the flight to be announced. He finally answered, "Hey Cat! You at the airport?" "Yea, I am. So, what's going on?" "You find out soon enough when you get in at Stansted!" "I suppose I can wait to find out for another hour and half" "I can't wait to get my hands on ya. I missed ya so much darling" "Me too, Duncan. Are you picking me up at the airport?" "Yes, I am. Johnny is driving me there" "Wohoo. I better go now coz we are ready to board the plane now" "See you later, darling" "You too, sexy." I ended the call. I finally boarded the plane and arrived at the airport an hour and 25 minutes later. I picked up my luggage and made my way to the Arrivals gate. I spotted Johnny; he carried my bag for me. We went out to the car outside the airport where Duncan was waiting. I got in the car; I was greeted by a big bunch of flowers from Duncan. "Alright, Catherine?" "I'm grand. Thanks you for the flowers." We kissed passionately in the back of the car, that we didn't realise we had already arrived at Dunk's house until Johnny interrupted us! "Whoops, Duncan. We're already here!" We both laughed our heads off. I grabbed my bag out of the boot, while Duncan went to open the front door. Johnny went home after that. I closed the door behind me, and crept up behind Duncan's back. I cheekily said to him, "I need a shower, will U give me a hand?" He grabbed me and ran for the bathroom. Some hours later, I woke up, went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Duncan was still asleep. A few minutes later, Duncan suddenly came up from behind me putting his arms around my waist. "Oh, where's my surprise you have for me? I just thought of it." "Ok, are you ready to hear it? I hope you like it." "Ooh, I wonder what it is!" "Since you had no luck finding a job, I asked Daniel - my manager, 'Is there any jobs for you at the record company? He said, 'He was going to ask the same question to me about you want a job at the company?' I said "Seriously? She will be so happy." I was in shock when Duncan told me that he got a job for me working in the reception area in Innocent Records! I planted him a big kiss, jumping up and down around the room!! "Does that mean you will take the job?" "Yes, of course. That means I won't have to come to London to be with you back and forth." "I'm so glad, that we won't be so far away from each other here in London except travelling with the band." "So, when am I starting the job?" "Oh, you start on Monday. Daniel told me to bring ya to the company tomorrow to show you around the place before Monday." I screamed, "I can't wait. Thank you so much, Duncan" "Not a problem. I do anything for ya, babe" "So the boys know?" "No, they know nothing. In fact, we got an appointment on Monday at the company. So, they will have a surprise waiting for them when they see you at the desk." I started laughing, "Oh god, I can't wait to see their faces but they do know that I'm here with ya?" "Yea, they do". We watched telly and talked all night long until I fell asleep in his arms�
Chapter 16 � Friday
I woke up at half nine this morning, I noticed Duncan was already up. So I grabbed a quick shower before I went to the kitchen to see what Duncan was up to! I walked into the kitchen to find he had made breakfast on the table ready to eat. "Good Morning. Nice job you did on the breakfast" giving him a peck on his cheek. "Hey, you sleep alright?" "I did, thanks for asking. What about you?" "I slept like a log, with you by my side." I laughed, "Aw, you are sweet" winking at him. We both sat down to breakfast, it got me thinking of the dinner we had on our own at the hotel back home in Killarney. Duncan interrupted my thoughts, "What's the smile on your face for?" "Oh, I'm just thinking about us being together back home." "Aww, I had a wicked time with ya, babe." I nodded in agreement. We washed and put the kitchen wear away, then I went to get changed as we were going to meet Daniel at half eleven. I rang Sarah letting her know that I was in London but Katy had already told her before me! She was still going out with Mark 3 weeks now and so were Katy and Lee too! Life was going great for the three of us and I hoped it will last forever from this moment.
Duncan and I set off to Innocent Records, I had already met Daniel at MTV TRL studios a couple of weeks ago. We arrived there; Duncan took me to his boss office. From there, Daniel showed me around, and what's my job would detail. We discussed my hours, pay and AOB � Any Other Business. I was happy when we finally reached the agreements. I had Duncan to thank for getting me the job. I wouldn't get the job if I hadn't come to London and met Duncan. One last thing, Daniel did was to introduce me to the receptionists working there. There are two receptionists working there � Stacey and Emma. They seemed really nice people; I was already looking forward to starting work there with them on Monday. Before we left, Daniel enquired about my arm, I was surprised as I realised it was better! We headed off to a restaurant for lunch with the others. They were already there when we came. We apologised for being late! Lee cheekily asked, "I wonder what held ye up?" Katy gave him a light thump on his arm for asking the question! Duncan told Lee, "That's for me and Cat to know, and ye to find out!" We were grinning like Cheshire cats! It was great catching up on gossip with the boys, Katy, Lucy and Andrea!! After our lunch, Duncan and I went off to see Fiona � Dunk's mom! I was looking forward to meeting her again! I thought Fiona was a really nice person and that Duncan was lucky to have a great mother! I absolutely enjoyed her company; I caught Duncan looking admirably at me! I looked at him, "What's up?" "Nothing, I'm just thinking about you. I'm grateful to have met you." "I feel the same too, hence the incident at the restaurant." I went over to him where he was sitting, giving him a cuddle. Fiona said to Duncan, "I think you found the one." I laughed when Duncan said back, "Yes you are right, Mother". I realised he was being serious; it prompted me to leave the room and head outside for a little walk. There was a park across the way from his mom's house; I sat down on a bench on my own. I didn't realise how long I been sitting there until Duncan appeared. "Cat, Thank God, you are alright. I was getting worried." "Sorry, I worried ya. I just needed some fresh air." "I didn't mean to scare you off." "It's not your fault" "It is, I shouldn't have said it. We are together almost 3 weeks now" "Let's just forget it, and concentrate on us. I'm cold, will we head back?" "Ok, do ya want go out clubbing tonight?" "Not really. If you want to, go ahead. I'm not stopping you" "Nah, I won't. I keep you company tonight" "If you are sure" "Yep, I want to spend time with ya. We can go out tomorrow night!" We headed back to Duncan's some time later! I texted Katy and Sarah telling them to have a great time clubbing with the lads!
Duncan and I ordered a takeaway while watching telly for a while until I got myself to go to bed as I was getting sleepy. He stayed up for another while until he woke me up getting into bed in the middle of the night. I cuddled up against him�
