I was still sound asleep when Duncan woke me up. I was a little annoyed at him, "What are you waking me up for? with a serious tone. "Sorry, I didn't mean to, anyway I ordered room service so we don't have to go downstairs for breakfast." "Oh, good idea and sorry if I scared you a bit. I had a good night sleep." "Hmm, you slept better than me" winking. I pelted my pillow at him which the two of us ended up having a pillow fight, tickling each other until there was a knock on our room door. We scrambled to our feet and put on our robes. I let the waiter in with the room service, thanked him and gave him a tip. We ate our breakfast in bed. After the breakfast, Duncan jumped into the shower while I got dressed and packed our bags. Our flight for London was departing at one o'clock, so we were all leaving the hotel around half ten for the airport. I went out to the balcony thinking until someone snuggled his head against my neck, which sent shivers up my back! "Are you okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?" "Glad to hear it, it just that you are quiet this morning. Is something bothering you?" "No. It's just� Oh, forget it" "Oi, tell me. You can't just forget whatever is on your mind" "Look, it's nothing important. Anyway, I think you better get dressed as we supposed to be in reception in half hour" "Fine, I go get dressed" sulkily. I rolled my eyes at him and took a deep breath; I went back inside to have a quick look to make sure we haven't left anything behind. Everything was sorted and we made our way downstairs to meet up with the gang, Katy and Lee wasn't there yet. So we waited for them to come, Duncan often complained to me that Lee is so unorganised with his stuff, he always forgets to bring things that is needed but luckily Katy was there to sort Lee's stuff. They finally came, and we set off outside to our taxis. We arrived at the airport without traffic hold ups, headed to the airline desk and checked in. The boys caused a stir with people surrounding looking for a autograph or a photo, we the girls stayed of the way but some of the them came over for a chat, one of them mentioned seeing a picture of Dunk and I at the restaurant in the paper! I rolled my eyes and laughed, "Oh well, that what's the papers do. They just look for publicity taking snaps of celebrities to fill up the pages!" laughing, the girls agreed with me. *smiles* Anyway, it was time to board our flight, I was sitting with Dunk besides the window, while Katy and Lee were sitting behind us unfortunately as you never know what he be up to with his tricks!
We took off into the air; somehow I must have nodded off while reading my book. Then suddenly, I woke up to a sound of a paper bag bursting! I saw Lee and Katy laughing their heads off. I growled at Lee "ffs', you gave me a b!00dy fright. Will you act your age, not your shoe size?" which made Katy stop laughing. She looked at me with a shocked expression on her face at my outburst. Duncan had come running down to me looking at the three of us and finally asked, "What's happened?" Lee spoke up, "I just did a prank on her while she was sleeping, and she woke up really angry. "And what prank was that?" "I banged an paper bag" "For god's sake, she hates pranks, that's why she's really p!$$ed off at you. Grow up!" "Sorry Cat, I didn't know you hate pranks" "Sorry, I didn't tell you before. I'm just in an awful mood today" I said to Lee. I apologised to Katy too! "It's okay, I make sure Lee doesn't do anything to you again" "Thanks for being understanding. You are a good mate."
15 minutes later, we touched down at the airport; we quickly grabbed our luggage and got into the awaiting cars separately. Duncan and I got home half hour later, I sent a text to Stacey and Emma telling them that I'm back in London and that I will see them tomorrow at work! As far as I know, Stacey was still going out with Darius since the first night of the 'Guilty' tour. Emma text back saying, 'Can't wait to see ya at work, I got loads to tell you.' and then I got a text from Stacey! I must have missed a lot of gossip since I went to Manchester two days ago!! I fixed up something to eat for the two of us. I went out to get some shopping while Duncan was sorting his stuff. I was wrecked after coming back from the shops. A short later, Duncan went out to see his mom but I stayed where I was. He still wasn't home when I went to bed at half ten for an early night sleep!
Chapter 25
I woke up at eight o'clock and went for a shower. Duncan was sleeping away in bed. I didn't hear him come in during the night. I had my shower and got dressed. I rang for a taxi to work as I didn't want to bother Duncan to drive me to work. He had been working flat out for the two months! I left a message besides his pillow on the bed saying 'Gone to work. Have fun today whatever plans you have. Love Cat x'.
I paid the taxi driver and went into work; I was there before Stacey and Emma. The two girls came in not long after me; I was delighted to see them and to catch up on news! *smiles* Emma had a huge smile of her face; I was curious what had made her smile so much! Eventually, she told me why. I was shocked; she met Matt from Busted in a nightclub with Stacey and Darius at the weekend. She was going out tonight with him, she was so excited all day at work! Stacey and I were constantly annoying her. Work was really busy especially its two days away from Christmas! We had decorated the reception area a couple of weeks ago. It was an absolute good craic! We finally went for lunch, and did a little bit of shopping. I got a text from Duncan telling me that he is picking me up from work this evening. Just as we were heading back to work, I suddenly realised I was supposed to be going to a wedding on the 28th, Duncan and I were invited to Shane of Westlife and Gillian at Ballinitubber Abbey and the reception at Ashford Castle. It was a black tie wedding, so I still haven't got my dress yet! Though, Duncan wasn't going to the wedding. Katy and Lee were going, so I was linking up with them. At least, most of the shops are open 24 hours for Christmas. I might go out tonight to get a dress! *rolls eyes* Mark and Kian were going to be groomsmen to Shane! I was gutted that Duncan wasn't coming to the wedding but he wanted to spend it with his mom when I accepted that it would be the right thing.
I finished work, Duncan was waiting outside. I told him I was going shopping for my dress, so he was fine about it. We went into town; it took me ages to get a dress. I was very happy that I finished my quest but I dragged poor Duncan all around the shops! I got a pale pink two piece dress with sequins on it. We headed home afterwards and grabbed something to eat. We had a chat about our day and I was telling him about Emma's date with Matt tonight! I had sent her a text telling her to have good fun tonight! I left Duncan to watch the telly to have a bath but unfortunately he wanted to join me but I told him no. I wasn't up to it tonight with him. Something was bugging me inside but I couldn't figure out what it was. I went to bed, trying to sleep. Duncan got into the bed besides me and asked "Are you okay? You are worrying me." I turned to his side and said "Yea, I'm fine. Nothing is up. Now, I want to get some sleep. Night, Duncan" "Are you sure? Night babe, Sweet dreams." I didn't reply�
Chapter 26
Over the next two days, I worked non-stop that I had hardly spent any time with Duncan at home. It was just as well I had my X-mas shopping done a few weeks ago. I was relived that we � Stacey, Emma and I were off work for a fortnight. We deserved the break as we had been working our socks off in the last couple of months. It also means that we be able to spend some time with our fellas � Darius, Matt and Duncan. Emma and Matt were getting on like a house on fire since their date a few nights ago. She was smiling the following day which Stacey and I annoyed her all day long! *laughs*
Things were getting tense between Duncan and me for some reason which I cannot explain at all. At least he had a three week break from the band over the holidays. He was frustrated with the lack of time spent together as I don't have the time to do anything or go out with him as I was completely tired out from work every evening.
The night before Christmas Eve, Duncan handed me an envelope. I opened it to see what it was; it was tickets to Paris for a couple of days stay there. He was also bringing Fiona to Paris as well. Unfortunately, we were supposed to be coming back on Saturday, the wedding was on Sunday. I was to be flying to Dublin and then a connecting flight to the local airport in Mayo on Saturday with Katy and Lee and meet Mark and Sarz at Dublin airport. "You had gone all quiet? Do you not to want to go?" I told him that I can't come to Paris. From then, we had a huge row over it. It was our first major argument in the four months we had been together. It took a while for things to calm down between us; he accepted that I wasn't going to Paris. He went to phone his mom and let her know. I went to the bedroom and rang Katy wondering if she can take me in on Christmas Day, she told me that she was going to Lee's mom for dinner but I had forgotten all about it. I said, "That's okay. I ring Stacey and Emma to see if they are not busy?" She knew straight away that something had happened as I didn't sound myself on the phone. She asked me straight out what was the matter? And I told her what had happened tonight. We talked for another few minutes until Lee arrived at her house, we hung up after that.
I went back into the sitting room to see Duncan lying on the couch half asleep, I turned around and went to the kitchen instead. I sat down and stared out the window until Duncan coughed which made me jump off my seat. "Catherine, I want to apologise for tonight and for losing my head at you. You didn't deserve it." "Me too, it happened. Can we forget about it?" "Yeah, it's forgotten." Duncan came over and gave me a hug. I realised I missed getting hugs from him which makes me feel so safe being with him. "Did you tell Fiona I'm not coming and how did she take it?" "Well, she was surprised at first but I told her the reasons why." "I wanted to come, but I had already accepted the invite to the wedding. Anyway, make sure you enjoy your break away." "Thanks, but it's not going to be the same without you. I'm off to have a bath. Wanna join me?" with a cheeky grin on his face! Before I could reply, the phone rang, I went to answer it and it was Katy on the line. I told her to hold on for a minute, I called Duncan and said yes, I will. I went back on the phone and asked what was up? She said, "Well, I told Lee about you, and he said you can come to dinner with us to his mom's. He checked with her if it was okay and she said it's fine." "OMG, are you serious?" "Yeah, I am. So, are you coming?" "Hell, yea I will come as long it's no problem with Sheila." "Woo, can't wait!" "Me too, you are a top mate. Anyway, I got to get back to Dunk. By the way, we kissed and made up. Night." "Aww, that's sweet. Bye from me and Lee." I went to the bathroom and nearly slipped on the floor. "About time, who was on the phone?" "Sorry. It was Katy, so I am going to Lee's mom's house for dinner with them" while Duncan was watching me undress. *rolls eyes* I joined him. "God, Catherine I missed you so much." I looked at Duncan and said the same thing back to him. He gave me a long lingering passionate kiss and well, what happened next, ye all know. *rolls eyes*
