CHAPTER 91

A couple of hours later the guys get ready to leave.
"You can stay here if you want, but I've got an appointment tomorrow morning. And you know I can't be quiet, so I'll definitely wake you up," Lee turns to me.
"Oh you can come with me," Dunk says.
"Okay, thanks," I smile. I give Lee a hug to say goodbye.
"You didn't tell me that you have an appointment. You're just saying it to make me go with Dunk," I whisper in his ear.
"Oh really?" he grins.
"I still don't believe you," I whisper.
"You don't have to believe me. Just believe your heart," he smiles and gives me a kiss on my cheek. "Bye babies. Be good, stop kicking your mummy," he says cutely while stroking my belly.
"They're not listening to you," I grin. "Bye Lee." I give him a little kiss on the lips.
"Bye babe."
I also say goodbye to Sy and Ant and leave with Dunk.

I follow Dunk to the living room, he sits down on the couch. When I stand behind him, he tilts his head back so he can look at me. I lightly touch his nose and smile. He smiles back and bends his head down.
"What's wrong? You've hardly said a word all evening," I ask and wrap my arms around him from behind.
"Nothing," he answers and taps my hands. I sit down next to him.
"Look, I'm really sorry about what I said to you last week, about my hormones and stuff like that. I was just a bit in a bad mood. I shouldn't have taken it out on you. Can you forgive me?" I look into his blue eyes and blush slightly.
"Of course."
"And can you maybe forget all I said?" I hardly dare to ask it. How will he react?
"Are you sure?" he looks deep into my eyes. It feels like he's looking into my soul. I nod slowly, not breaking the eye-contact.
"There's nothing I'd rather do," a real smile appears on his face. I give a sigh of relief and hug him tight.
"I missed you," I smile.
"Oh really?"
"Yes."
"What do I have to say now? That I missed you too?" he grins.
"Nah," I shake my head laughing.
"Was it you who missed me, or the babies?"
"I wish you were there when I went to the gynecologist," I say.
"You didn't answer my question," he shakes his head smiling. I close my eyes for a few seconds.
"Both," I smile.
"You know, you look really cute when you pretend to be thinking," he grins. I quickly grab a pillow and hit him.
"Pretend to be thinking?" I call out. He grabs my arms so I can't hit him again. His face is only an inch away from mine.
"Get off me!" I pull an angry face.
"Excuse me madam," he grins and lets go of me. I grin back at him, sit back and relax.
"I got an invitation for a party tomorrow evening. Wanna come with us?" he asks me.
"Who's us?"
"Lee, Sy and Ant are coming for sure."
"You go, but I don't think I'll come with you," I shake my head.
"I can take you home early," he suggests.
"I don't know. I'll let you know tomorrow. I don't mind a quiet evening alone," I wink.
"Oh you want me out of here?" he pretends to be offended.
"No!" I shake my head laughing.
"But than I can go to bed early finally."
"You can go to sleep early today too if you want," he smiles.
"You want me out of here?" I grin. He shakes his head, grinning too.
"No, we're finally alone. We don't get the chance to talk in private often," I say and take his hand.
"That's true. On week days you always seem so tired when we talk on the phone," he nods.
"And it's much better to talk face to face," I smile.
"Too true!"

We chat for hours. I tell everything about the hospital, and he tells all about work. They had dance rehearsals with a new dancer, and she seems to be very funny.
I give a big yawn.
"Oi! That's very clear: you wanna go to bed!" he laughs.
"And so do you," I grin when he starts to yawn too.
We've sat for so long that I can hardly get up. Dunk quickly stands up and takes my hands to pull me up. I end up in his arms, our faces just an inch apart.
"Can you walk up the stairs, or do I need to carry you?" he grins, stepping away from me. I go up the stairs, Dunk follows me.
"Oh no! The party begins again!" I moan when I feel strong kicks in my belly. Dunk almost bumps into me because I stopped abruptly.
"Are you okay?" he asks worried, placing one hand on my back and one on my waist.
God no! Not that spot! I nod and quickly walk on up the stairs, so he takes his hands off me.

"They always start kicking when I go to bed," I groan after I've changed my clothes and brushed my teeth.
"And they'll keep you awake?" he asks, wrapping his arms around me from behind, putting his hands on my bump. I nod.
"You know what Lee did? He told a bedtime story, and they stopped kicking!" I laugh.
"How cute! Shall I try the same?" he smiles.
"No thanks, I'm okay," I smile and give him a kiss on his cheek. He takes his hands off me and I go to the door. I moan when I get kicked again.
"Or yes please," I turn around at Dunk.
"Okay, go to bed. I'll be there in a couple of minutes," he nods.

I lie down in bed and give a big sigh. Lee's so not right! Dunk's just a really good friend!
Dunk enters the room, turns off the lights and snuggles up to me.
"Sleep tight babe," he whispers in my ear, stroking my belly softly.
"Same to you," I whisper back and put my arm around him. He starts to tell random things to the babies softly. He also quietly hums some songs to them.

"You're still not asleep, are you? Poor you, you always used to fall asleep in a couple of minutes," he says to me after at least half an hour. I give a deep sigh.
"What's wrong?" he asks kissing my cheek.
"My feet are cold."
"Why didn't you say that earlier? I'll warm them!" he says and starts rubbing my feet.
"Is that better?" he asks when they're warm.
"Yeah, thanks."
"You should be able to sleep now. These honeys are quiet now too," he whispers and gives a light kiss on my bump.
"You're too sweet to me Dunk," I whisper back.
"Nobody can ever be too sweet to you! You deserve the best!"
