When I wake up I see Lee sitting on his knees next to the bed. He seems lost in his thoughts.
"Hi," I softly say.
"Hey sleeping beauty," she smiles sweetly and gives me a kiss. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah great," I give a big yawn and stretch myself. "How long did you wait here?" I ask curious.
"Just a couple of minutes, dinner's ready," he smiles.
"Great. I'm always hungry."
"I bet you are! Now get out of bed, I wanna see your big belly. Dunk said it has grown a lot in the 2 weeks that we didn't see you," he pulls my hand and I get up.
"Yeah, growing indeed," he laughs and puts his hand on my bump.
"And moving a lot," I say.
"But not now," Lee says.
"Nope. I hope it will keep quiet until after dinner."
He starts to walk away.
"Lee!"
He turns around at me.
"Do you� do you think it's only my belly that has grown? Or did I get fatter?" I ask him. He looks at me from top to toe.
"Turn around."
I turn and I feel his look on my back. "Be honest," I say.
"No, I don't see a difference," he says. "Dunk! Do you think Iris got fatter?" he calls out loud at the kitchen.
Sh*t! I didn't want to ask Dunk, because than he'll look me up and down. Dunk comes in and looks at me. I quickly look away.
"Turn Iris," Lee says a bit impatient.
"Look at that @ss! Still the same to me," Lee says and grabs my @ss.
"Lee!" I call out embarrassed and slap his hands.
I'm blushing heavily and Lee starts to laugh hard. Dunk doesn't know if he should laugh or get angry, but than he starts to laugh too.
"I think you still look the same," he says to me.
We go to have dinner.
"Why did you wanna know?" Lee asks me.
"I've gained too much weight."
"That's only your belly I guess," Lee shrugs.
"Yes. I think my belly's growing too fast."
Dunk looks up at me immediately. "You think something's wrong?"
"No, not wrong. I just� wanna know why I grow faster than I expected," I carefully choose my words.
"You eat loads," Lee says.
"That's because I'm always hungry. I'm not gonna starve myself."
They both keep silent and we go on eating. Dunk gives me a thoughtful look. "Did you�" he stops.
"Yeah, I talked to your mum. She said it's nothing to worry about. But if I keep worrying I should go to the gynecologist," I smile.
Dunk and Lee both nod in approval.
"I might do that," I shrug.
We finish dinner in silence.
"Dessert?" Dunk asks.
"Of course," I nod, Lee nods too. Dunk gives me a quick smile and leaves to get the dessert.
"I need to talk to you," Lee says to me with a serious face.
"Okay, we'll leave after dinner," I nod.
Dunk returns. We're silent again.
"I'm sorry I'm not much fin, I'm tired. Didn't sleep well last night," Dunk apologizes. I look at him surprised.
"Why else do you think I woke up later than you?" he smiles.
"Hope it's not my fault?" I say.
"No, no. but if I can't sleep this night, it will be your fault," he winks.
"Oh! I can't do anything about it!" I call out. I know exactly what he's talking about.
"What?" Lee asks.
"Nothing," I say. Normally Lee would have asked on, but he doesn't. Something's really bothering him!
"Let's go," I suggest and he nods.
"We'll let you have a quiet evening. Go to bed early," I smile at Dunk.
"See you tomorrow?" he asks when we're putting on our coats.
"Yeah, sure," I nod smiling. I give Dunk a hug and he gives me a kiss on my cheek. The baby kicks just when I want to kiss him back.
"Did you feel that?" I ask and put his hand on my belly.
"A little kicker it is," he smiles very sweetly at me.
OMG! I shouldn't have done that, I feel my face getting red. Dunk suddenly pulls back his hand and I see he's blushing slightly too.
"Feel it Lee," I turn at Lee and try to hide my confusion.
"What a rebellion!" Lee laughs.
"Bye Dunk," I say and give him a kiss on his warm cheek quickly.
"Bye."
"Bye mate!"
"You're so quiet," Lee says when we're driving to his house.
"I was thinking."
"Don't worry about the baby, okay? It's a good sign that it's growing fast and moving so much," he gives me an encouraging smile.
"Actually, I was thinking about you. What you wanted to talk about," I say.
"Oww. Just wait till we get home."
