7" (Red)

1) Cement
2) Chicken On A Bone
One of my top faves, this tune gives me many memories, such as that time Grant, Jon and Taka watched me sing every word of this at the Leeds Met Uni on the 5th April 2001!.

"Cement" is a top upbeat tune with interesting lyrics to boot, while "Chicken On A Bone" isn't the greatest Feeder tune, but is pretty good anyways. "Forgiven" is a little boring at first, but after a few listens it really grows on you, and the lyrics are very effective as well.

"Pictures Of Pain" is very uplifting, with nice strong vocals and instrumentals, while "Rush" is absolutley brilliant, one of my highlights of the old-skool Feeder era.

1) Crash
2) Here In The Bubble
The first Feeder single I bought from the "Polythene" era, and I got this before the day of the Leeds Met Uni gig, when going around the city with a mate I met on the internet.

"Crash" is a brilliant rocking tune, and in my opinion was their best single at the time of release, hopefully I'll get to hear this live come the arena tour. "Here In The Bubble" is a very atmospheric song which would sound great on "Polythene" while the acoustic "Forgive" is nowhere as good as the album version, but is a neat rendition of that anyways. This single got no radio 1 airplay, but still made #48!!!.

"Undivided" is another b-side highlight, and just thought "wow!" when I heard this on a mates mate's CD player the same day I seen Feeder at the uni. The "alternative" version of "Swim" however, isn't very much different from the album version, only that the fade-out from "Shade" is taken away as heard on the "Swim" mini-album and album re-release in 2001.
HIGH (RELEASED 6TH OCTOBER 1997)
CD2

1) High
2) High (acoustic)
3) Sweet 16
4) Crash (video)
CD1

1) High
2) Wishing For The Sun
3) WIT
4) Cement (video)
7" (Light Blue)

1) High
2) Wishing For The Sun
"High" was the debut top 40 hit for the guys, making #24 on it's week of release. It's my favourite song of all time, and always make me grin everytime I hear it. It's a pure classic and gets quite a few MTV 2 plays now and again. The song is a mellow rock ballad with heavy bits thrown in, and reflect on the pleasures of life, with friendships being the main highlight, especially with the line "I'm going out for a while, so I can get high with my friends" making me realise how lucky I am in life.

"Wishing For The Sun" is a rather unusual track, but is entertaining anyways, while "WIT" first heard on the "Swim" mini-album is a brilliant heavy upbeat track with witty lyrics. The acoustic version of "High" is nowhere as good as the original, but is very interesting anyways, while "Sweet 16" follows in the vain of "WIT" with the idea of using heavy riffs with excellent use of lyrics. The song tells an interesting story about a teenage girl being stalked, trying to keep away from a drunken workman- totally brilliant stuff.
