| Regarded by many fans and many critics as Grants best period of song writing to date. This album was created in memory of friend and colleague Jon Lee, and the guys did a great job of it as well :-). Mark Richardson, formerly of Skunk Anasie plays drums on every track on the album, as well as the b-sides of the singles from here as well, as and does a rather good job of it too :-). The tracks on here follow the theme of loss, hope and happiness which work to great effect, and the listeners of the songs can relate to them very well too, which is one of the many unique aspects of this album. Every track on here has something special about it, and all vary very well from each other. The album finishes off with the 6:50 epic of Moonshine, which is without doubt the most experimental track on the album and is a rather good one too. Love Pollution is probably the best non-single song on the album, and has really touching lyrics and you can really feel the raw emotion thats going on- an excellent masterpiece. Whilst Quickfade is the most emotional track on the album, and in my opinion the most explicit about Jon. Its touching lyric I miss you more than words can say, a part of me has torn away makes me shed a tear from time to time, and the imagery Grant portrays are also very emotional especially when you think of it happening as pictures in your mind. Once again another effective track on the album. Comfort In Sound has gone though a few re-issues, with one being a bonus DVD, and an SACD. The bonus DVD has the 4 videos from the campaign, including Just A Day which are all quality and the live vids from Reading are neat too. The only thing Im not too keen on it once again the idea of an audio playing on top of live footage on the Forget About Tomorrow live from Brixtion Academy vid, just like on Forget About Tomorrow CD2. "Just A Day" originally gets a rating of average for me, as explained in my review in the "Promo Videos" section :-). |
