| Despite the mixed reviews this amazing album recieved, it got 4 stars in Q and was reccommended by them, and also took Feeder 3 rungs up the chart ladder- when it entered at number 2 beating the number 5 of "Echo Park". The album is like "Comfort In Sound" MK2, but takes a new dimension towards the songs- we have more use of guitar solos such as the infectious one on "Morning Life", and an amazing guitar solo on the emotional "Tender", every track on the album is something special, and once again sees Feeder take on a new style of sound which is not heard on their other albums. "Pilgrim Soul" blasts the speakers when you least expect it as it goes back and forth in impressive style from quiet to loud in the verse and chorus. Mark said to me that it's his fave track cos he "gets to rock like a mother"!!!!. The title track is an emotionally uplifting track, and was one of the singles off the album. The first single "Tumble and Fall" is a grower at first, but once it's fully grown on you the impressive atmosphere blows you away and fills you up!!!. There are tracks on here in memory of Jon, such as the incredibly opening lines of "Frequency", and "Tumble and Fall"'s line of "life's not the same, since that day you went away, I recall, like the summer drops of rain, come back to me". The album closes with the most experimental track on the album titled "Dove Grey Sands", which could be the new "20th Century Trip" due to it's unusual sound compared to the rest of the album, and opens with the best ever opening track on an album- "Feeling a Moment" with it's amazing blasts of the "WHOO!!, WHHO!!! WHOOOOO!!!" as soon as it begins, a truly amazing track like the rest of this mindblowing album. |
