| Vendeta is a rather complex character. Although she is known as being merciless and cruel, she also has a loving side that few ever will see. Her first mate, Nexus Arkilu, was with her for more than 50 years, not a very long time by werewulf standards. However, in that time, Vendeta bore him two children, a boy and a girl. The male's name was Menarunthe, which meant "gentle soul." The female's name was Untelia, meaning "radiant child." Vendeta and Nexus were attacked by a jealous man who did not want anyone but himself to be with her. So he tried to kill Vendeta so that Nexus could not be with her. The plan backfired when the attacker discovered Vendeta could not be killed, so instead he turned his fury upon her family. Though he murdered Nexus and the two children, their vengeful spirits invaded the body of the attacker. Vendeta's would-be killer was literally pulled inside out and then imploded, leaving only a bloody mass behind. Still, Vendeta was not comforted by her slain loved-ones revenge. She spent the next 73 years mourning the loss of her family. The personality that most see is that of a sadistic, yet strangely seductive female. She has "hobbies" that nearly everyone would be horribly repulsed by. Skinning children for rugs and clothing, harvesting corpses from morgues and graves, and using her victim's own tendons and sinews for thread are only a few of her most enjoyable pastimes. She will seek out male servants at night, luring them in with her astonishing beauty and perfect form. Most days she can be found "decorating" her numerous dungeons, chambers, and hallways with everything from torn and bloody rags to strips of flesh. Vendeta will often shift to her wolf form and seek out lone travelers and lost children, then killing them and carrying their bodies back to her home. Intorousian Hellgate Manor Vendeta has many hidden chambers in her manor that few know of. Many of the rooms are empty or are simply storage rooms, however, a few hold deadly secrets of the Bloody Maiden's vile past. One such room is known only as the Room of Voices, so named because those who enter are said to hear faint, disembodied voices speaking quietly amongst other unseen entities. Some say they are the spirits of those those who fell victim to Vendeta's unsatiable bloodlust. Others swear they are the voices of the wraiths and spectors that stand guard over the estate. It will probable never be confirmed as to exactly who or what these erie noises are. Rumors claim there lies a vast graveyard beneath the ancient manor. Though no solid evidence of this has been found, there is a firm belief that the graves do in fact exist. Strange things occur on nights when the moon shines in a reddish hue. Ghostly forms wander the hallways, whispering and beckoning visitors. Distant sounds resembling hoofbeats and townsfolk conversing about daily events. In certain rooms, clawing and deep animal-like noises can be heard lurking in the shadows. Within the last few years, survivors have come forth revealing terrifing testimonies of an entity that guards the Chamber of Passing, a sacrificial room where the walls are stained in the blood of millions. The reports are more than convincing, as many of the survivors have been terribly mauled. They discribe a huge creature, at least seven feet tall, that is more horrifying than anything to have ever existed. Fangs much like those of a sabretooth have been told of in every report, averaging about 1 1/2 feet in length. An odd marking is often portrayed on the face, encircling two glaring eyes. Its pelt is said to be of the darkest black, and several large boney rib-like spines erupt from either of its sides. Atop its head rest two straight horns or ears. Talons sharper than razors tip each of its toes. The survivors have all provided rough sketches of the creature dubbed "The Hellgate Sabre." |
