Problem. Shutter Wont Release Can only take a few pictures and the mirror stays up. Unable to wind film further, or no shutter operation at all Mirror could be up and unable to see through the view finder. May or may not have indications in view finder of meter operation.
Cure: Check Batteries. If unsure replace them.
Reason: these cameras use a solenoid to release the shutter and control the speed of the exposure. It is possible for everything else in the camera to look normal such as meter operation. the solenoid requires lots of current to release. The battery may just not be able to supply that current. Another point with the removing of mercury batteries from the shelves /. The new replacements. Such as silver don't last as long. Always carry a spare set of batteries so you wont miss that picture.
