| Believe it or not, this is the second-largest crater in the US. Um, where is it? Filled in, so the info thing said. Kinda a slow start to the first day of the trip. |
| This was a lot of fun. It turned out to just be a weather balloon, but we could see it from over 70 miles away! And it was shaped like a fish! Tethered to the ground. Pretty weird! |
| Guadalupe Moutains, where we spent part of the 2nd and 3rd days. |
| More Guadalupe (from outside the park.) |
| Guadalupe Mtns. from a distance. |
| View of Guadalupe from in the inside. Very scenic, but arid. |
| Another view, looking down from the trail. |
| A neat rock formation (the arch) that's almost impossible to see with this camera. And, oh yeah, me. Guess who had the camera? |
| There were a lot of turkey buzzard flying around the campsite area. |
| The person with the camera thought they were really cool. |
| Did I mention there were a lot of turkey buzzards? |
| HA! Here's proof I didn't really take this trip on my own! *laugh* My traveling companion next to this really tall cactus flower/stalk thingy. |
| Suprise. Another picture of me. Actually in the campsite this time. |
| Me, campsite, and a turkey buzzard flying just beyond the trees... can you see it? |
| This beautiful full moon kept us from ever getting a good luck at a non-citylight polluted sky. That, and the smoke from the West burning. |
| Roswell was next... well, actually, it was kinda on the way from Guadalupe to Palo Duro, so we thought we would swing on through. Here's proof! |
| Roswell looks NOTHING like the series. But here's another pic from a downtown store. |
| Palo Duro Canyon. Very pretty, but hot and insect-ridden, place. We stayed there the 3rd night and some of the 4th day. I got very fatigued from the heat. Not fun - my fault - but still, not fun. |
| Another pic of Palo Duro. |
| So we decided to go some place cooler - Colorado! Very pretty! Yeah! |
| Campsite, day four. It's GREEN! |
| Colorado, in the same camping area as the previous one. You can almost see my camping companion... but he was harder to catch on film than the Jackelope! (If he ever sees I wrote that, I'm probably going to get in trouble, but he doesn't get on the puter much, so I'm probably safe. Probably.) |
